Over on the Alden thread some folks started posting their "Favorite 5" pairs from their collection at the suggestion of @mdubs. Most are well behaved and include only Alden. I bucked tradition and included 3 different brands. So, what are the favorite 5 in YOUR collection?
Good question and easy to answer now that I have a "list".

1. Boulder in blue. My first AE!!
2. Fifth Ave. in dk. chili. The staining and shading is just masterful.
3. Surrey in brown. So well made and nice to touch plus it's on dainite (sorry).
4. MacNeil in brg. crdvn. My first and only shell!
5. MacNeil in oxblood. B/c.. It's oxblood.

Well, that's my AE "Top 5". Look forward to reading all of yours and I know you're going to have a lot tougher time narrowing it down. lol.

I'll do this, but I'm actually going to have to think a bit more. Right now, I can easily say my brown shell HMs will be near the top.

Great responses, but it would be better with pictures if you have them.

Like @smfdoc I will “buck tradition” and list my current Fave Five without regard to brand. No particular order. Not coincidentally, these have gotten the most wear in 2019. Apologies for grainy photos:

* stock Indy 405
* Dublin MTO Long Branch
* C&J Galway II’s
* McGraw in truffle shell
* C&J Cavendish II’s

Wearing MTO (rubber soles and heels) black Rutledges (and grey flannel trousers) today.

IMG_2874.jpeg

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, with one of the several poets I met tonight at the VIRGA, a Poetry Ritual event at Diehl Marcus & Company in East Hollywood.

IMG_2880.jpeg

Tonight's discovery, noticed everyone else's cell phones took better pictures in low light than my iPhone 5c.

For those who want to see more poet's pictures in shoe threads, here are two more poets.

IMG_2888.jpeg

For those who want to see still more poet's pictures, here's one more.

Unfortunately didn't get a picture of the poet whose works were full of allusions to classic (mostly Greek) literature.

For those who don't want to see poets but do want to see food, here's some of the food (before I ate several of the cookies) and, on the off chance anyone in this group is an organ grinder, what may be a nice new uniform jacket for your monkey.

I won an ascot from Spoo on ebay. It's my first ascot. I'm quite excited to find an excuse to wear it....maybe Thanksgiving dinner....
Ascots are the best, I have 5 or 6.

I was hoping to wear my Navy Shell Fifth Streets for the thing, but that's definitely not looking like a probable outcome.

Guessing the micro houndstooth suit (the trousers from which you were asking about in another thread), a light blue shirt, and this bad boy would be a proper level of peacock. Oh and I have a lapel pin that's got Skeletor on it and says "Live Laugh Love". Maybe the black Shakers a certain someone sent my way.... :hide:

A very nice combo to be sure! It should look great and "peacock" enough. I would have to google how to properly wear an ascot, but damn that looks nice.
