I'm confused you ordered the tan grain Black Friday macneils that are now on clearance but changed the sole from that rubber thing to double oak or it's the old macneil that they made for BB color? Shell is on the 1.0 so I can't comment much on the 2.0 calf.

Yes, the tan grain Black Friday Macneils that I ordered are the original Macneils but with an ugly rubber sole, which I changed out. The 2.0 calf has a Poron insole, which I actually find uncomfortable, and does not have the black welting around the edges.

Any ideas what this is or if it can be reversed? The shoes are natural color chromexcel leather if that makes any difference. They're pretty cheap with soles in great condition.
If they weren't chromexcel, I would say fixable. As daring as I am and as agressive as I am with chemicals, I'd pass. No clue what happened there. If it's cheap enough, ae will refinish for $50. Probably money well spent.

Any recommend some AL leather loafers in chestnut colour that I can wear with slim fit chinos or jeans or some monk straps.

Am a size US 8. 140lbs. Not wide feet.
Not sure where on the brown spectrum you consider "chestnut", but here are a few reasonably priced casual loafers in 8D on Shoe Bank right now-the Bar Harbor, Bates, Daytona, and Timber:

I am on an amtrak train headed to kansas city. Wearing my higgins mills and packed my Leeds 2.0 and my Overlords. I plan to stop at the kc Allen Edmonds. You know something is not right in your head when you look forward to seeing a new AE store.

Great store. Ask for Trey, if you don't already have a SA. I've only been to that store once, but its first rate.

Today's Choice.... I believe out of all the AE I own this is my favorite calf style. All three of the Liverpools I own are fantastic.
I wear size 10D in Higgins Mill, what size do you think I am for the Liverpool? I don't have an AE store near me. Thanks!

So work on Saturday leads me down a loooooooooooooooot of rabbit holes. Today was an educational trip into denim. Which led me to a few threads in SF. I've tried to figure the abbreviations on my own but here I am.

MC = ? (I'm thinking men's causal, but that didn't vibe with some of the posts I was reading, especially when they followed MC with casual.)
conservative business dress = conservative business dress (I believe that's it)

SW&D is easy, street wear and denim...but I saw some posts with both MC and SW&D in them and now my head hurts.

PS those bourbon shoes (both of them) above are straight sex

PPS I think I answered my own question...MC = men's classic? If so, just move along, nothing to see here...feel free to quote/make fun/ridicule though if so inclined.

Wearing my Horween English Tan Dublin Leather McGillicuddys today.

These are MTO McAllisters, with Danite soles, Poiron Insoles (which A-E forgot to put in), brass eyelets, flat (Carlyle) laces, reverse split welts, and wheeling. When I got them, someone asked why I didn't get MTO McTavishes (which have split reverse welts). It was because McAllisters have finished edges with piping.

Since they are neither McAllisters or McTavishes, I call them McGillicuddys (which older members might recall was Lucy Ricardo's maiden name).

Having mentioned Lucy Ricardo, hoping @Lobster33 does not do what Lucy Ricardo did (twice) when she was on the train, and resists the temptation to pull the Emergency Brake.
