Can't argue with that.
Also, when you are sitting you will see more of the boot. It's a subtle change in style that can make a very nice statement, in my opinion. It also has a bit of a retro vibe to it...though not as much as my button boots! Would be nice if they offered a plain cap toe variant for absolute sleekness.

More cords and suede.....

Wore snuff suede Neumoks with Lands' End light weight (it's around 91 here) narrow wale corduroy trousers today.

For those who are trying to decide if they will get a pair of brogue suede Strands, those were brogue suede Strands in the two cords and suede pictures I posted yesterday.

For some reason, I've never understood dress boots. If most of the material is hidden anyway, what is the big draw? Especially in light of a higher price tag. Genuinely curious because I'd love to be converted.
If you're seated in a meeting and your pants are hemmed properly, people will see at least some of your boots. (But don't hem them so short that it's obvious you're wearing boots when you're standing.)

More importantly, though: YOU will know you're wearing them, and you'll admire them when putting them on, taking them off or crossing your legs ever so subtly in meeting, and that will bring you pleasure. That's what really matters.

Makes sense. I ended up going for the dark chili McAllisters (think they will work better at the moment over the oxblood/merlot), but will be sure to scout out some dress boots next time around. Thanks everyone!

Is using two different lacing patterns common on this board?

I purchased these shoes on eBay and they arrived with undisclosed damage. The seller refunded my money and does not want them back.
These shoes do not fit me (I am 9EEE and I cannot get my foot into them).

I would like to find these a new home where they will be properly cared for.
I offer these up for free (except for shipping, that's on you) to the first responder.
All that I ask is that once you have them, if you feel they have any value, please donate some small commensurate amount to your favorite charity.
Please post your interest on this board to claim them. After that we will coordinate by PM.

These shoes are shell.
I have been told that the number 475 on the inside of the shoe represents a size code of 7.5 D.
They measure 11 3/8 inches long and are 4 1/4 inches wide.
They are fairly old but the soles are not that bad. No soft spots.
The damage is on the left tongue. It has been torn about half way through where it attaches to the vamp.
I would wear them if they fit.

I would prefer that these go to someone who needs them, not someone with 40 pairs already in the closet.
