Great idea! I am actually going to see Dan tomorrow at the Costa Mesa store. :bounce2:

I got the job I interview for a week and a half a go and I start on Monday. :-D
Congratulations!

How do you rate them vs the Maritimes?

Only my second wear, so too early to tell. In terms of fit and material, I'm a HUGE, HUGE fan of the Maritime. My only complaint against them is the sole seems to bottom out after some time (though last longer than Sperry models I've had in the past).

Just had to wear the Warwicks the first day after I picked them up. Kind of worried about the creasing I'm already seeing on my right shoe, though. Of course, this is also my driving foot, so that may have something to with it, especially with a 45-minute-each-way commute...

Has anyone ever seen a belt that is both black and burgundy? I would love to find one that I could wear with my black/burgundy Sheltons.

The closest AE belt that I can think of would be the Nashua. An Oxblood Manistee might be the best option though. The perforations almost give it a 2-toned feel.

They meant it when they said the 201 had a high cone. If you have a lowish volume foot, id say creasing is a given due to the excess vertical space.

The sole is much more sturdy but the shoe runs a lot tighter overall. To me the cxl on the maritime vs. nubuck here makes it a no-brainer for me.

How'd you get the garnet shell?

Agreed. Is that garnet shell or just #8 looking especially red under a camera flash? Deets, buddy. Spill them.

I am surprised how much I am looking forward to trying the Alumnus I picked up. There is always the possibility that this 2321 last that is overly roomy for so many people is just what is needed for my boxcar feet. After seeing this user photo on the AE site, I have decided that exposed brass eyelets will be needed if they are keepers. I think the eyelets and flat laces will give the same vibe as this other shoe.

Nice call on the exposed eyelets. Would definitely add an even better look to a great-looking shoe. This one is on my "get" list. I had a pair in my usual size from our favorite eBay seller, but I was just swimming in them. Need to get some funds together and grab them in a half-size smaller. Of course, I should probably pay off the bills that came in this week first ($500 first installment on braces for the kid, $500 maintenance on the car, $600 books and student fees from the kid's high school, new glasses for me, and the wife getting a crown put on tomorrow.)

If you do go with the exposed eyelets, let me know where you got them done and how much they cost. Just want to be able to keep that cost in mind when budgeting. I should be able to afford new foot stuff somewhere around the year 2020.
