I have been debating this or just picking up a cheap pair of suedes at a nearby outlet shoe store. Certainly wouldn't pay the $295 price point. At $199 I know it has the quality name behind. 

Ok. It's because I get hot real easily and I'm trying to look for more good quality summer shoes. I've seen and tried on the Cavanaugh but I honestly didn't really like it.

Damn. I didn't know. You think it's worth it for the $199 sale price right now?

Well, value is inherently subjective, but yes, I do. I think that's where it should have been priced (or maybe $225), especially since it's been discounted most of the time it's been available anyway. The suede is top notch, the handsewns from the DR are really well made, and at the end of the day it has AE customer service behind it. I think it's a great shoe, I just wish they made it in the US. I also wish they still made a boat shoe here.

Should. Sockless (or rather no-shows) and the right colors they'd look great.

As for cleaning, i would assume a little light hand scrub with some oxi-clean in water would do the trick.

Finally took the carlyles for a stroll today for Walnut early-Weekend after talking with my SA about a lumpy bit in the left sole. Had confidence it would compress or would be able to return. Hopefully they do because they are perfect otherwise!

Also was talking about my MB Strands and was told to look out for a short wing in the near future as a limited release...happy Friday.

Also picked up this beautiful pair of Gucci's, would it be too tacky to match the gold with my gold belt instead of a black belt?

I have a pair of Rush Streets as well but they have not darkened. I have not put anything on them as long as I've had them. I've simply brushed them and used my trees. What do I use on the CXL to darken them and also soften them? Will VSC darken them?

I use the Leather Lotion pretty regularly on all of my CXL, along with some more extensive brushing than with calf. I have never tried the Bick or VSC, as I'm kind of gun shy about them, because I don't know what I'm doing, or what their intended use is, especially with a pull-up leather.
