I met Alan Flusser the other day and we had a great conversation on a whole range of subjects.

Today at The Sartorialist http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/ he telles me about the influence that his father had on his style.

His father's outfit doesn't sound very outlandish. This reminds me of something that Bernard Boutet de Monvel, the painter of my avatar, his daughter said: 'People were so well-dressed then, in a way that looks a bit theatrical today. They were almost too elegant for people now to understand. If my father came back, he wouldn’t like it.' [IMG]
