His father's outfit doesn't sound very outlandish. This reminds me of something that Bernard Boutet de Monvel, the painter of my avatar, his daughter said: 'People were so well-dressed then, in a way that looks a bit theatrical today. They were almost too elegant for people now to understand. If my father came back, he wouldn’t like it.'
