COOLEST BRAND: STREETWEAR AND DENIM

What a year! We saw some real milestones, and it's time to take an appreciative look back at what we've all accomplished. Styleforum is full of individuals who deserve to dubiously honored for their contributions to the community, and we need your help! With that said, we're happy to announce the very first STYLEFORUM DUBIOUS HONORS, where we look back at the year gone by and pick the very best (and weirdest) posts that were made to the forum.

My nomination is for:

Blue Blue Japan. It hits that dulcet note between "tries too hard" and "don't even care anymore." Great regard for materials. Does their own thing, both in the fact hat it is a true "small maker", as in, a lot of the rarer pieces are done in house, not farmed out, and in that they do their own thing, "All things indigo", with only a passing nod to trends in the bodies that they use. And the people in charge, according to @Synthese , at least, who is not allowed to lie on the internet, under contract with Styleforum, and simultaneously chill and obsessive.

That's cool.

Agree with Blue Blue Japan. Lots of awesome stuff with an excellent mixture of traditional and modern. And yeah, they just do what they want and happily I agree with pretty much everything they do.

Kapital was a close second for me, but there's just so much stuff that I think is a bit wonky and off. Like Visvim, some great concepts and good things pulled off well, but tons of horrendously ugly ****.

Truman Boot Company.

Vince has been very responsive with the community and has creates some very fine quality footwear for a great price using unique materials. It looks like he's getting more business than he can handle right now, so I hope it all works out.

Kapital - great pieces and a sense of fun that some brands lack. The coolest catalogues too.

Well, I'd say the brand that inspired the most, um, passionate reaction had to be Lawless Denim.
