Just a heads up. Argentina is done tomorrow.
I dislike the Argentinian team slightly less than I do the Brazilian, but I have always cheered for the Orange. Hoping to see a Netherlands vs, Germany final. I'd be torn about who to cheer on for then, though. I always cheered for Germany as well. I think that if it comes down to Germany vs the Netherlands, I'll have to cheer for Germany, There has been just a bit too much diving on the Dutch side for my liking.

I hope Brazilians still remember they won in 02' with Big Phil.

they're being consoled by the Portuguese who lost to Greece at home in a final under Big Phil. He's certainly doing it big, win or lose

Folks in Brazil should hide their VW, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Audis.

When I was back in Argentina during '06WC, after Argentina was dismissed on penalties by Germany, I received death threats in the streets from passing motorists, got spit on, beer chucked at, and followed by a drunken pair with their escopetas. It was fairly frightening. All because my complexion is far more Teutonic than Latino.

All part of the experience.

You should`ve told those people: che, pelotudo, que te pasa? Instantly recognized.

Wear a shirt saying Gabriel Heinze, that should make them understand.

im ashamed today of how brazil´s team played. was dreadful to watch and will be written for generations. Worse is a pathetic argentinean trying to even give excuses as of favoring brazil etc. you should pray for your pope you dont play like us today and actually start doing something in this WC as well. Theres been almost 25?  years of 0 tournaments for you. lests see...

Una victoria en maracanã me sabe muy bien.

It's a shame Brazil won't get to taste it there either.

I'm not the only one saying the same exact thing:

2. Brazil was finally found out

As stunning as this event was, the elements were not that surprising. The signs were there. As their campaign went on, it did not seem as if they were building up to anything special. Instead, it felt like they were just about keeping it together, that they were set to crumble.

In virtually all of their games, they came perilously close to the edge. Chile were inches away from knocking them out, while a frantic physicality was needed to eliminate Colombia.

The very fact it came to that in the quarterfinal, however, revealed so much about this team. They never had the quality to win this World Cup.

By the end, too, the loss of their single world-class attacker in Neymar felt irrelevant. He couldn't have prevented this. There was always the danger of it happening, that they would unravel against a better side.

Yet it's still difficult not to think the hysterical reaction fed into the historic nature of this humiliation. The frenzy the entire country worked itself into saw the equal but opposite reaction on this pitch. Once the deeper problems were exposed, it all gave way.

Brazil are not this bad. They are not 7-1 bad. This was about something else.

This semifinal as an event was certainly something else.

Of course I realize these things now. While being chased with a shotgun it was more about not getting killed.

Brazil said "**** this" when they were either 2-0 or 3-0 down. Neuer was pissed as hell conceding a meaningless goal in the final minutes of the game. Tells you everything you need to know about the pride and professionalism of both teams.
