1st Suit with Lee Baron - Critics & Advise Needed

Hi All,

Here's my first official post on my visit to Lee Baron for a CMT. The photos are taken during my 2nd fitting with Peter.
I'll have a chance to make final refinements to the suit before I leave HK in Mid Jan and would welcome any comments from Gurus in here!
I'm generally happy with the fit of the suit but somehow I feared I've made a critical error in asking for a peak lapel on my 1st commission.

Some details regarding my suit:

1. 2 Button Jacket - Peak Lapel (Natural Shoulders)
2. Trousers with Side Tabs
3. Fabric: Dormeuil Amadeus - Navy Blue (Pattern: Herringbone)

The belly on the lapels is excellent! Because of that I wouldn't be too bothered by the peak lapels. Here are some minor suggestions that seem easily fixable. Have fun and tell Peter I said hi!

1) Take in the waist a bit.
2) lower the button stance a bit
3) smooth out the back
4) adjust the sleeves to make them even
5) raise the back of the collar and make it sit firmly against the back of the neck

Agreed, but the top of the sleeves by the shoulders look pinned so it seems Peter is already fixing that area.

I hear you. Peter may be addressing all this, but certainly can't hurt to mention that to him.

When looking at the back it does look like Peter is already taking in the waist quite a bit. As long as there is shape then perhaps no need to do so more. A bit tough to tell since the OP arms are hanging against the waist.

Onnthe fit, I am sure Peter would not let you walk out from the shop with that, upon the final fitting he shall be able to address the fit issue

But I got to say the shoulder aren't very soft, shoulder seems a little wide and sleeves need to be rotated, but once that are done it shall look great

I am slightly worried about your lapel, belly peak needs to be at least four inch to look nice (in my opinion)

I had a mohair blazer made by him and it is one of the best fitted coats I have

Not until my new TF suit arrived for summer jobs

Stylistically, I think the button stance is too high and I don't like the notches. Is it a notch or peak lapel? If peak, it needs more definition/point/height.

You are also right with the button stance, but for the angle for the lapel shape, it does depends how old is OP, If he is proper middle age, the angle of lapel will suit him very well, I can't image 'dad' pulling off ultra sharp lapel

Once the waist and other adjustment is done, it will look fine

I'll take note of those points and make the necessary changes with Peter!

Regarding the suitability of the Lapel, I'm still not sure if it's right for my age since I'm in my early 30s...though I do have a "Dad's" look....haha
Anyway, we'll see how the final product will turn out...Will keep everyone posted!

Hi All!!

It's been a week after I returned from HK. Guess it's time for me to share the final product produced by Peter after 4 fittings.
All in all, I'm pleased with the suit but I'll probably need to fix my left shoulders as it looks slightly slanted due to the imbalance physique of my shoulders. Otherwise, everything else seems fine. Welcome any comments from Gurus out there!














FYI:
Before bidding goodbye to Peter, Peter suggested that I should choose a heavier fabric next time because the Dormeuil Fabric that I've chosen for this suit is rather light. Any shirt wrinkles formed under the jacket are quite obvious to the eye.
Should I get myself a better fitted shirt to avoid this or is this unavoidable due to the nature of the fabric? Let me know your thoughts please.
