How do Alfred Sargent Dumfries and Bedale compare to Trickers, Church's and C&J?

These Alfred Sargent boots, Dumfries and Bedale, look great and I'm wondering how the quality compares to Trickers, Church's and Crockett & Jones as the AS's are quite a lot cheaper. Are they made in England? Also does anyone know if the width they come in, which is FX, is a medium, wide or very...

Please could someone tell me what size my feet 28.9 cm long feet are? For years now I've been buying shoes between size 10 and 10.5 but always have trouble with width with even a G fit giving me corns on the little toe. Anyway, I decided to get some some size 11s but when speaking to my shoe...

Do Borgioli recraft shoes as the English shoemakers like Church do?

Do Borgioli recraft/resole shoes like the English shoemakers such as Church, Cheaney, EG etc? When I bought my Borgioli's the retailer assured me that he would be able to get them resoled with the correct soles when the time comes. Is this the case and if so is there somewhere in UK that does it...

High Shine Quality Shoes that are Not Corrected Grain?

I've always liked shiny shoes and the shinier the better. I remember as a kid I got some platform shoes that were stunning (about 1972) for a day at the most. They were plastic and the shine rubbed off the same day. I was so disappointed. Anyway, since then I've always looked for quality shoes...

Dainite v. Commando soles for comfort???

I have a few pairs of shoes with Dainite soles and don't find them very comfortable with them being very hard and non compliant. Is the Commando sole more flexible and comfortable? I've been looking at a pair of Church's Graftons with the Dainite Soles and Trickers Keswick with the Commando...

Borgioli Singlecut and Suede Monk Shoe width??????

    Church's Grafton v. Trickers Keswick.

Which of these shoes is the better quality in terms of build quality, leathers used and durability would you say if you've had/have or have knowledge of these brogue shoes? Why oh why do English Shoemakers make most of their shoes in narrow/medium fits??????

I have terrible trouble buying shoes wide enough. Most of the shoes I like from Crocket & Jones, Trickers, Cheaney, AS, Church's etc only come in E and F fits. Needless to say I have very painful corns on my little toes. Surely they'd sell more shoes if they just made some wider ones.

    Grenson Fred any good?

I fancy a new pair of brogues and was considering the Church Grafton but the fronts on the pair I already have have worn extremely quickly. Can't believe how fast to be honest. I thought these would last for ages but after a few wears only the tips are down to next to nothing and perfect...
