When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale?

For the strands, it is definitely a different insole. My gripe w/ AE has always been the non-descript, hard, flat leather insoles.

The BB one is soft and padded and seems to fit better, at least for me. It'll be interesting to see how it wears over time though.

I received my shoes from BB: Got a pair of brown strands and the C&J captoes.

I have to say the BB rendition of the strands is improved over the AE. I know it's minor, but the insole is so much more comfortable and the fit is similar. The leather topy doesn't look horrible either (much better than it looks on the website).

How much are the strands from BB?

Why 1818 over MTM suit?
You can get a Thick as Thieves suit fully canvassed for around $500. If I recall BB 1818 are only half canvassed also the suits aren't MTM so it probably requires a good tailor...

I've browsed through the Thick As Thieves thread and every suit looks like pure crap and ill fitting. The fact that they are shipped all wrinkled just shows that the maker does not take pride in the product.

I def. disagree with you. First off, often times most of the ppl. buying suits from TaT are entry level buyers and self-measure. Additionally, they make several vintage suits that do not photograph well. I agree that it's silly that the suits are shipped wrinkled and in a plastic bag, and I even brought it to the producers attention but his purpose of the suit is to design a quality affordable suit and he says at the moment its not worthwhile to invest in expensive packaging. Bottom line is, most suits shipped via mail will need to be dry cleaned after. I think TaT makes some nice suits, but people can often measure themselves incorrectly.

Yes. They use the Poron insole in these. I have a pair of shoes with the softer insole as well. I'm not totally sold on it yet. It seems like it compresses too much when I walk. This allows my foot to move too much, which causes irritation.

I did it unintentionally. And it is BB policy. I bought a clearance black fleece suit for $480 online. The next day the price went back up to 800. It did not fit so i returned to the store without a receipt, even though i had it, for an $800 + tax store credit. Put it towards another MTM.

I'm surprised they would give you full retail credit. REI for instance will only give you store credit = the lowest price the item has ever sold for (if you don't have the receipt)

Should have bought a $4500 (2500 during thanksgiving) alligator bag. It is back up to $4500 now. lol After you get the store credit you can use even more discounts. I bought a MTM when it was 20% off (1000 down to 800). So i basically got a MTM for 480 bucks.
