We just enjoyed a panzerotti (calzone) with a bottle of Chianti, no less. Very Italian, as is my woman. She ordered pepperoni, which I love, though I may not sleep well tonight.

I think this might be the road to ruin, thin sliced fillet angus steak, raw from the packet dipped in salt and olive oil, and I think about 20 Peroni beers.

Roast chicken stuffed with jowl bacon, onions, celery and herbs. I've been eating this for a couple of days now. It sucks cooking for one.

I had an excellent carbonara, cooked for a few of us by an Italian friend.

After watching US get beat by Ghana and Italy beat Czech.

Kent, you put on a strong bird.

I had red lentils and a slice of low-fat pepper jack cheese in a really good wrap - "La Tortilla" tomato-basil, 12g of fiber and 9g of protein per 100 calorie wrap, and they're soft enough that they don't need to be warmed before using. Usually I have a bunch of steamed vegetables too, but I was lazy.

Insalata caprese (with basil and tomatoes from the garden)
Daube provençale au vin rouge (red wine beef stew, marinated 24 hours prior to cooking, perfumed with orange zest, sprinkled with olives and shallots the last half hour of cooking, simmered gently for 4 hours.)

Night before last: spanakopita, heavy on the dill.

Tonight: Cornish hens, hopefully barbecued if it doesn't storm, with lemongrass white beans (experiment).

Pork loin with rough chopped salt and black pepper,
sauteed with onions and mushrooms and wrapped in a whole weat fajita
with a sauce of sour cream, sriracha hot sauce, and brown mustard.
