Yes, some models go on sale. Archive put some of theirs on sale a year after stocking them, atelier is going out of business, and aanchoret is doing a last pair sale. However, very rarely is the new stuff marked down.

Barneys almost always marks down whatever they have leftover at the end of the season, some even makes it to the second markdown.

Archive put their fold over derby and boots at 50% off because they won't carry that style anymore, not sure if it is MA+ discontinuing it or they just stopped ordering them.

I see. There goes my dream of finding some nice A1923 boots at a price closer to 1k than 2k.

from my observation ma+ has been moving towards this style of double fold, which looks more refined imo. at least these are what i've been seeing most recently, i cannot recall seeing the one you are talking about.

I believe that is only a regular derby, this is the foldover or pleated derby:

Interest check if anyone's interested before I bother listing them: I've got a pair of IS black super vachetta ankle boots in size 44 and a pair of IS waxed calf dark grey derbies in 43 to go. the boots are still in box, shoe bags, etc. Completely unworn. The derbies have three wears total. No box, but tags and shoe bags.

Not looking for retail. Only selling the boots as I've got a duplicate pair in the same leather, and the derbies as they're a hair too small in width. As far as I know the waxed calf was only special ordered for me and was only available in F/W '12.

Here are showroom pics:

The wax treatment makes them a lot more grey irl

These are the exact same boots

you maybe getting that effect due to the 995 having a toe cap and not having one, there are 2 diff versions

so if i'm understanding right, the ones with the toe cap (its an inner toe cap right, like a lining) are going to look more like average combat boots and those without are gonna look eventually like a pair of socks?

Your understanding is correct but even with toe cap they aren't as bulbous toe as a combat boot.

I think all guidi have the sock effect over time.

Why would they have sock effect? The leather is pliable but it still has resistance. Honestly like any boot as long as your not being dumb and running the toe box into things you shouldn't have an issue.
