I'm sure you're aware, but mafoofan ordered 5. I think a flat welt would have better suited the plaza and single leather soles.
I think JGilbert has done a 6 eyelet shell chukka on the plaza. A suede version was posted here recently.

Holy sweet beejeezus - 5 identical pairs of MTO plaza wingtips??!!! Madness!!!

Not judging, and I am totally comfortable with it, but this brings the weirdness of being active on a shoe forum and posting pics of shoe selfies that we often talk about to a whole new level.  I thought DV was from Florida and you were from San Diego?

Once we cross over a certain line, it is too late to question or look back. I think... Maybe...

Gentlemen, I had lunch with MrDV again today, and we couldn't help but take a picture of the Color #2 LWBs hanging out... :)

Were you guys taking this picture barefoot, or did were you carrying your #2s across a bed of boulders to find the perfect spot? And were there bystanders?

Nice shoes nonetheless!

I just laughed out loud at the idea of dubs & DV scrambling barefoot over rocks, with hordes of tourists watching as they desperately try to find the optimum spot to take their shoe selfies. Taking it to another level now guys, bravo!

J. Crew LWBs showed up with no bags and have clearly been walked in. Send back for a new pair or try to negotiate a discount. At what price are they a good deal relative to a "perfect pair"?

Only you can answer what you consider to be a good deal relative to a "perfect pair." I know J. Crew will sometimes give discounts on worn shoes, but I think it depends upon who you speak to. I personally wouldn't consider creases and lack of shoe bags as a deal breaker, but you might be different. I think it's worth negotiating a discount provided the shoes are defect free (other than minor wear).

Just to add to this. I think you'll be chasing a "perfect pair" of Alden for quite a while. What is your time worth?
