My educated guess is that Alden certainly issues blanket POs to cover future purchases, and they will be unaffected by this increase.

I think you are agreeing with me, is that right?

Yes, I'm sure that Alden has a long term contact that is not affected by these occasionaly market corrections. It's the spot buyer that takes the brunt of it.

Of course, that all depends on how often they renew that contract. If they have to re-up, and prices remain high, well...

Very nice Chris! That commando sole is going to come in handy for April showers.

I definitely like the makeup as well. Nice spring/summer shoe. I don't know how well the suede would hold up to rain, however.

Like all suede, it holds up just fine. It's certainly a good idea to hit them with suede waterproofing spray, but even if you don't any water marks will brush right out. Even so, you should avoid outright soaking any leather, as water dries it out (paradoxically!) BTW I have this shoe and love it. I frequently wear them in light rain with no ill effects.

Quick Sizing question:

I'm looking for a pair of Alden boots. Most of the lasts that I'm interested in seem to run about a 1/2 size big.

I'm a 10.5 in the White's semi-dress. It's a touch roomy in the toe, in a nice way, and pretty spot on in the arch. Should I be looking at 10s, or should I stick with 10.5s in these "big" Alden lasts?
