Guys do you think living in hot weather(south Fl and caribeann) I'll get enough use from a Jcrew CTB , I have one on BO but thinking about an unlined PTB in color 8, what do you guys think? This will be my first color 8 shoe and I don't own any boots? I know they're different shoes but just one color 8 for me now.

Thanks,

I'm from Boston and have worn the 403s the past two winters. They are terrible on days wear there is ice. Anything you wear here in the winter should have a commando sole on them.

Speaking of 403s. Do you guys wear your Indy boots with flannel and tweed trousers or are they too dressy for the Indy?

They maybe a little formal for the Indy. I've tried and it just didn't feel right. I'm sure some tweed material could work out though.

I wish I had commando souls on my 403. That would speed up my walking on icy sidewalks.
I've worn the 403 on a ranch a few times this summer. It only makes them look better.

Have you considered a rubber topy or do you need even more traction?

I'm risking being yelled at but who is a fan of the rubber topy? Heard so much contradictory stuff on this my head spins. Don't mean to start up a rehashed debate for the umpteenth time, though.
