I've never seen a single pair of Aldens at the JCrew outlets that I've been to.

IIRC they are sold at one location down south somewhere, NC maybe? They aren't sold at the standard factory stores.

Wish I knew where the J. Crew outlet was, seems like the eBay sellers get 5-10 pairs a month at least and almost all look in pristine condition

How do we know that these ebay sellers are not sourcing from elsewhere if no one has seen Aldens there.

They are all J. Crew makeups and they have sharpie marks on the insole

I bought a pair of the JCrew captoe boot from one of those eBay sellers. There are shaprie marks on the insole and came with no shoe box. Other than that, I can't find any flaw in them. The upper leather is pristine. Only if I knew where they source these Alden shoes..

I've always assumed the sellers on ebay selling the J Crew models were just J Crew employees selling on eBay on behalf of J Crew (probably easier selling Alden shoes online via ebay than in the clearance store)

ruby shell wallet review

I ordered a fat herbie ruby shell wallet from Ashland leather. It is huge, it barely fits in my back pocket. i wore rivet chinos today and felt i was hiding a Gameboy in my pocket. i'm not sending it back. i like the craftsmanship and finish. it smells right, and it looks great under my phone when i set them on my desk.











I've only had the wallet for one day, i'm sure ill get used to it's size in a couple of weeks. I like it and hope to order more (slightly smaller) wallets from Ashland in the future.

A little Alden Appreciation for Tuesday.

Today I'm sporting the six eyelet chukka, wish I could find this makeup in cigar or ravello!

J Crew Snuff suede #8 saddle shoe. The color #8 is much darker in person and almost looks Cigar. It is a very cool shade.

I've only had the wallet for one day, i'm sure ill get used to it's size in a couple of weeks. I like it and hope to order more (slightly smaller) wallets from Ashland in the future.

Great looking wallet and agree, the quality is evident.

I have the "Little New York" front pocket wallet in #4 and sometimes think it is too big - especially in Rivet chino front pockets.

That thing is huge!
