Lousy cell-phone shots: Those are some killer looking PTB's! From the eyelets I'm guessing they're the BB version. Man, those shoes just keep acquiring character the more they're worn. The socks are eye-catching as hell. Bravo!

According to Sherman Brothers:

Yep - I was told yesterday by Alden DC to expect a price increase on or around 1/28.

Hope that does include pre-orders. At this rate my Edward Green collection may be growing. I love Alden and enjoy buying an American made product and although it isn't there yet, the decision becomes more and more difficult as the price gap closes. So we are likely looking at $750 for specialty cordovan? Factor in shoe trees and it's almost up to $800.

Your point is well taken, and today I am wearing my dark oak antique/dark brown suede captoe bals (perf tip) on the 888 last with an olive suit. :nodding:

But, for the most part, EGs and Aldens, IMO, are so different stylistically that it many times is an apples to oranges comparision.- particularly when comparing EG Calf models to Alden shell models. I like both makers.

A few recent acquisitions. All staples.

#8 Tassels (From a very esteemed forum member. Thanks Again!)

1000

9016 (Bought these to wear with a suit after the forum, a few weeks back, unanimously convinced me that the LHS is not appropriate with a suit under any circumstances. I got away with it in Pittsburgh, but now I'm back in NY where people are infinitely more fashion conscious. I herby formally concede to you all on this matter. Plus, it was an excuse to buy more shoes.)

9015

Right before their maiden voyage

Right after...

The lightening of the color in the crease will brush out, right?

I must say, the Mac break-in method really does make all the difference. Did considerable walking in the city and the toes are barely worn down at all.

Family Photo

Top: #8 Tassel, #8 Perf Cap Toe, Black Perf Cap Toe, J&M Strait Tip Bal
Second: Cigar LHS, #8 LHS, Black Unlined LHS, Brown Peal & Co. Penny Loafer (BB)
Bottom: Rancourt Espresso Shell Blake Boot, Brown Rubber Sole Gucci Horse Bit, Black Leather Sole Gucci Horse Bit, Tod's Brown Suede Driving Loafer

Formal to casual from top to bottom. Some might argue that the Gucci Loafers are more formal than the LHS, but you could also argue that the J&M's don't even belong on the rack with the rest of those shoes.

The right tools for the job:

Coming soon: Ravello LHS, Cigar Tassel, Cigar Punch Toe "Thor" Boot???

Boot laces are Outdoor laces from Kiwi in brown/yellow, from Nordstrom Rack (7eyelet, I think)

Thank you, Uncle!! Nothing much yet compared to your collection, but I'm trying!

nephew,
i have a major advantage over you because i have been in the market place for a much longer period then you have been in the market place. remember quality is more important then quantity

Agreed. Usually I tend to purchase boots from Alden and shoes from eg.
