alright gang, I am going to organize the Alden Meetup in LA.

I just got these off of eBay today, did the buy it now for $589. My first cigars, and my first LWBs. I have been looking for cigar cap toe balmorals, but have not been able to find them in my size. I planned on getting a #8 LWB, since I like that color so much. I am a little concerned, as these have not arrived yet and I am already thinking about my next purchase. I know it is supposed to be a rule that you do not wear bluchers with suits, but I may have to deviate from that one.

Agreed. It seems silly to care whether or not a shoe is a bal or a blucher with a suit. It's a very minor choice. I wear bluchers in formal situations constantly.

i would not have any issue wearing the cigar lwb with a suit and tie. more important, "SHELLS ARE VERY ADDICTIVE"

LHS #8 today, zero socks, go to shoe... bomber loafer, these are 10 years old and still look awesome. Long run... better economics .. hello

In SF for the weekend visiting a friend before we drive back down to LA tomorrow.

Stopped by Unionmade to check out the McLaren in person. Decided to hold off and check out Alden SF. I was really hoping to pick up the #8 captoe boot but it was far too red in natural lighting for my tastes. I suppose it was just that pair.

I went back to Unionmade and pulled the trigger on the McLaren's. They just continue to grow on me!

Will take proper photos tomorrow in the light. All I have are a few quick pics I snapped on my phone to send to the lady to see what she thought.






P.S. I was told that these were the last 8.5 pair. I just checked online and that seems to be true. Sorry if anyone else was thinking about these in that size!

I'm glad you grabbed the 8.5 The last thing I need is another pair of longwings, and I was trying to resist those.

They look great, man.

Hi Does anyone know where I can get a pair of these Alden Wingtip Boots in Shell Cordovan online as shown in the picture? I searched the net and the closest are from shoemart.com but it isn't really in the colour depicted in the picture and they are out of stock anyway with the non speed hook version. That picture came from a brick and mortar shop in Hawaii but they do not sell shows online (you have to contact them to buy anything and they don't seem to have that design currently).

I am located in Australia and its hard to find anything decent in shops here.

You might want to try The Stronghold in Los Angeles. They had a similar makeup a few months ago...can't remember if theres had speed hooks or not.
