guys, what's your opinion on a color 8 lwb with a dark navy pinstripe for an interview for a summer associate position at a philly law firm?

i have a pair of AE park aves that i would like to wear, but i think the leather is dry or something as they creased really strange today. might have to return them to nordstrom. also, i have an alden black cap toe boot on the grant that is brand new. would that work?

yes do it ... thats my go to shoe and i did two summers at a biglaw firm and got my offer 2 weeks ago

the #8 lwb is a classic and will do very well in the everyday work setting as well as the interview

I wish I had some. Got them off of ebay. ALDEN 31910. Black Suede Short Wings on Plantation Crepe. They don't seem like they're a special makeup for someone cause there is nothing printed on the insole. They're very nice though. Haven't ever seen any like them, the suede almost feels waxed. If anyone knows more please share.

hrrrm, i would be be willing to bet that they are indeed a special make-up. they are too unique to be a standard run from Alden (looks like the Alden Atom, Snuff Suede, Wingtip, Plantation, Brass Eyelets, etc.) These may have come from Alden of Carmel. They dont mark their special make-ups and they are big on snuff suede and plantation. Anywho, unique shoe, enjoy!

Thanks Mac! LOL. Honestly I didn't feel anything. I was on the second floor of the Federal Building on Wall St (built 1841) and stumbled for a sec walking, when the Park Rangers came up and evacuated us. With the 10th anniversary in 2 weeks everyone thought it was a bomb scare in the area.

#8 shell is a really versatile color. i wear it with everything. trousers, chinos, raw denim, etc. i'd probably get a #8 chukka.
