Excuse me for asking, but since when did that matter?

Cotton, I really dig your look. It's got a lot more verve and creativity than 95% of the outfits I see on these forums. Everything fits perfectly, and the pastiche of workwear, tweeds, and casual sneakers/boots simply works.

Awesome.

Carry on...

Yeah. I think he definitely deserved that too. Cotton Duck has a style that is unique, interesting, and looks damned cool. And, most importantly he wears the clothes; they don't wear him. That is really the key.

My own steampunk influences (when I dress in that direction at all) run a bit less rustic than Duck's, but it's nice to see it get some recognition here. I think I could have lived a full and happy life without seeing that picture of who's girlfriends, though.

Thanks for all the praise people, very warm welcome indeed. Arethusa, would love to see some pics... And Hews, there's quite a lot of people doing that Starwars/Steampunk = Steam Wars crossover. It lends itself perfectly for it.

i saw this thread title and saw that CD was the last reply and i couldn't have thought of a more fitting person to post here. I just learned about Steampunk today, the whole movement seems pretty interesting.

This **** is serious... (edit: just wanted to make clear that this was suggested to me by google reader and that I don't search for sites like this...) Play some more dress up why don't you? Ex: etc. Funny thing is that I can imagine these people being upset that this is being discussed on a fashion forum thus becoming more "mainstream"...
