Hmmmm, that is disappointing to hear. That means that anything less than quarterly visits requires a full year lead time to allow for an initial fitting and only one adjustment.

Let's see the herringbone jacket!! What book was the fabric from?

Perhaps we can ask what it would take for them to add one more visit to the year? I assume it's the number of orders coming out of San Francisco, but I wouldn't mind ordering more if it meant getting them here more often.

How far out do you have to make appointments for the March visit?

Not sure, but with other new tailors, I usually make my appointment the month before. Once you have an established relationship with them, they usually email you about appointments.

Please. Bankroll them aka Vox style.

p.s., were they even traveling to SF on a quarterly basis?

The book is Loro Piana. I'm heading out for a bike ride now so I don't think it will look it's best shown with black spandex riding shorts. :) I'll shoot a pic or two tomorrow.

Yes.

Dino had about a dozen customer appointments this weekend. While a respectable number in and of itself, it's significantly less than Boston and only a fraction of NY. As one of the early supporters for SF, I can't really argue with how the economics impact the NSM travel schedule.

I'll post pics of the chunky brown/beige herringbone cashmere jacket I picked up yesterday. (I can't wait for cold weather now :) )

This is, of course, what it will take to get more frequent San Francisco visits from NSM. More customers, more commissions.

I would like to add that any of my correspondence with Dino or Mina has been excellent. And, they have always gone the extra mile to resolve anything without excuses. So, it may take a little longer for San Francisco customers to get an order but you will be well cared for during the process. I think that is worth a lot.

A few staple pick-ups in Napoli recently: 2-button SB in Lesser 13oz pinstripe, and 2-button 3-piece in Lesser GB. Both coats receiving very minor tweaks to eliminate some wrinkling along the sides and tighter anchoring around the neck. Shirting is NSM, tie is Cappelli.

Knee-length DB overcoat in grey herringbone wool/cashmere blend, flapped patch pockets and rear half belt. Also had a basted fitting for a knee-length SB overcoat in pure navy cashmere - will snap pics at the forward.
