Hmmm. In that pic the jacket does seem a bit dark/unsaturated for the pants, but Im not Im bothered by it all that much.

I thought I'd experiment today. Thrifted this union made Polo jacket for a few dollars to flip it on eBay but thought I'd wear it once since I don't have a grey odd jacket. It's a 43L (I am a 42R) with a very low buttoning point. Pink ocbd to pick up the red in the glen plaid, and a black knit because it gets lonely from not being worn ever. Grey flannel Polo trousers complete a northern lights look , BB shell tassel's and burgundy cashmere socks.

Long time, I think!

I have bow-legs, cuffs don't sit cleanly, so I prefer no cuffs (legs never fall straight as you can see). It's an issue of how much "puddling" I get at the shoe given that the legs don't hit straight down. I know, such troubles.

I'm glad my fit is generating so much discussion among Noodlers. Keep it coming.

I think Clags meant that the bottom was too dark for the top; you feel the other way?

I just mean that in that pic the pants look like a pretty rich and saturated brown and the jacket looks like a deep and unsaturated navy. Not sure if its optimal and also not sure if I am bothered by it.

I really couldn't judge it without seeing it in person or if you got top quality pics outdoors that were equivalent to what their true colors are.

I agree. It also helps to keep the legs somewhat straighter. I have badly knocked knees that you can make out in pics sometimes and it definitely helps to produce weight to make them hang nicer. Also, I prefer lapped outseams on trousers as this has some effect of keeping a straighter line as well.

pB, though to be fair, your pants are bespoke...as you've worked with Ercoles for a while now, they should hang nicely which they do despite knocked knees.

One trick I've learned which might aid those who don't cuff is that you can add weight by having the old heel guard strip put along the inside edge the entire way round. This keeps some shape to the pants back to front rather than having the cuff puddle (if that makes sense) and can substitute for the weight of not having cuffs.

They do hang nicely, when put on fresh, but from sitting at a desk all day they do kind of get misshaped and kind of form to your legs and knees from sitting. Then when you stand you will have subtle wrinkles and folds that subtlety make your natural body apparent. Bespoke doesn't make every body issue invisible regardless of your movement throughout the day.

I don't know about the non-cuffs though. As well as some benefits, I just think they looks nicer. No cuffs looks "unfinished" to me. I rarely see men in uncuffed pants with a decent break. Part of it has to do with the very light fabrics that is all the rage in RTW today. They just kind of flap about and get stuck to socks and such.

Here's what I wore today: trying to do that AAS sweater/jacket thing that pB doesn't like (sorry) -- I bounce between an overheated classroom and an underheated sound studio today, so layers are key. Tried to do an AAS-ish pattern combination and pose, too, for that Friday Challenge.

I'm cheating today as this is definitely not WIWT. I didn't have time to snap any pics today (all-day meetings, ugh!) but then I remembered that I never posted this pic last autumn.

Seeing as it is one of the few pictures I have that was taken by a professional photographer I figured I had to post it here. Besides, there's far to few pics of white tie rigs in this thread so I'm trying to remedy that a little bit (and as a bonus you get a guest appearance by my beautiful wife ).
