Haven't posted in some time, hence the smile and the color palette.

@HoldfastHoldfast, this is for you.

Behold the glory of this tie. Aka so I hear floral patterns are coming back in style.

Wearing with a cream linen jacket. Might add a pic of that later.

Haven't posted a fit for a very long time:
Best pic I've seen here for a while. Very well coordinated colours/textures + great fit. Malmö?

Rtc, I don't know about that choice of shirt with such a prominent tie...feels like too much is going on with a striped shirt...solids would definitely allow the tie to stand on its on more.

I know I'm knit picking but what happened to the collar?

Omg. I forgot collar stays!

And yes, I definitely had issues with the shirt. I knew I wanted to wear a cream linen jacket. A white shirt seemed like the wrong choice and a light blue seemed to blend a bit much. Gut said light blue , but I over thought it after the shirt tie blend last time.

And @Rudals, if only you'd get me something nice.:embar:

I'd really like this with a different shirt. The stripes just take it too nautical for me, HF.

Just be grateful I didn't wear the navy loafers I originally planned to, as well.

A little too much blue?

I like the tie a lot. I like the idea of using the tie with a linen jacket. I really hate using the tie with that shirt. The patterns jar, as does the apparent textural contrast between the tie's smooth silk and the shirt's oxford cloth. Might I suggest poplin next time? Either a plain ecru (or maybe pale pink) or, if you want to try the high-risk strategy of loud shirt & tie together, then perhaps (and this really would depend on the exact pattern) blue (or green or lilac) hairline stripe?

P.S. no point using the "at" thing with my username; I have that notification option turned off. I will either naturally see a comment mentioning me, or not. Genial am I, but I am no summoned genie!

Thanks!

I agree that the shirt doesn't quite work, but I didn't want to go plain light blue and white seemed a bit too much. I'll try one of your other suggestions. Perhaps a muted check?

And actually, the tie is cotton! I think the pattern makes it a pretty awesome summer tie.
