No, seriously. The second layoff is waaay easier than the first.
Ok, so technically it wasnt a lay off since I was a contractor (as Im sure some of you had seen my other threads), but I was full time there for 18 months and treated as an employee. Just a sudden let go, even though I have been looking for a new job (Interview last week, phone interview next Tuesday and I talked with a recruiter tonight, actually) So... doesnt feel too bad man.
It was a quick, professional "you gotta go",which I appreciate. My only real worry is they go through my history and see me posting tips on what you should do when dating someone half your age...
Ok, so my real question. I worked cross functionally with a lot of departments and there were a lot of people I liked and respected. Should I send them an email or a letter just telling them I'm no longer working there, thank them for their help, wish them luck and leave my contact info - or is that a little weird?
oh, and Im going to vegas this weekend too with all my friends. Free sympathy drinks? yes, please. No better way to get over it.
