It's the convex curve on the outer edge of the lapel. Personally, I love it on a DB:

Do not love it on SB peak:

This. Or even just one button. Otherwise it ends up looking either too fashionable, or too dandified, or too vintage. I'm also tempted by the idea of a very country-ish tweed in that configuration (jetted pockets etc.), to play with the dissonance. I'll hold back until I come across the right cloth though, which may be never.

Thanks, I got it. I don't think I mind but I can understand why you would prefer to go w/o on a SB.

I like them. I have a cool old Henry Poole that I need to get tweaked and it will then make an appearance. It is a blue pinstripe with nicely sized lapels.

For me, peak lapels Single breasted is dinner suit only.

Pretty much sums it up for me, too. I've seen ones that looked great on others, but can't imagine myself in one.

SBPL suits compose the vast majority of my wardrobe. I'm saving up for a Chittleborough & Morgan as we speak. They do it best, IMO.

Very nice indeed. Are most of your suits bespoke?

I loved the ones spoo posted in the 'hate, but SF approved' thread last night.

I have seen lots of examples of it looking amazing and none of it looking horribly bad, so I'm going with the approved side.

I see where you're going with this, but I suppose I've always associated SB peak lapels with classic 1930s and 1940s style, e.g.
