So I guess my 2 for 250 turned into a 1 for 125. Almost wish I'd grabbed the brown fifth street boot or some penny loafers, but nothing really moved me.

I ended up with only one pair from that sale too, and it's still in the mail because I had to go up a half width on the walnut grain MacNeils I decided I liked. For some reason there was a glut of that shoe in most of the sizes I checked. They must have been unpopular, which strikes me as odd since tan pebble/grain longwings is such a classic look.

My last question on the issue was swallowed up by the moderation queue, but does anyone know when to expect that the April sale referenced earlier in the thread will kick off?

Welp, I guess I learned that I'm definitely an 8E on the five last.

I hope you bought them, I was looking at them and had I know they would have only gone for $75 I'd have grabbed them for sure.

I don't believe it, two 15D'ers posting within an hour of each other, I thought I was the only one and had a lock on the sweet 15D sale shoes. Bespoke; you scooped me on those Daltons, they're Chili right? I'd emailed the shoebank about them and called a day later when I didn't get a response but they were already gone. I'm still happy with my Brown CXL Bayfields I scooped last year.

I was impressed with how many nice boots were available in either a 15D or a 14E at the different outlets. Yes, the Daltons are chili, but that was the only color Dalton they had. They also had Fifth Avenues (in black and brown), Bayfields (brown), Malverns (black), and Amoks (tan) as well, which I thought was a pleasantly diverse selection -- as I'm sure you understand, I've grown accustomed to much more limited options! I checked at Riverhead and the two in Wisconsin. Which outlets did you contact?

Hate to ask since everybody's price tolerance is different, but what would you consider in the range for "right price"?

Thanks again :)

What is this question in reference to? I think we need more context.

For AE
Retail Price - spot on for quality and service
Seconds price- Better than retail for quality and service
Sale price - shockingly great for quality and service
2 for $250 - Insanely ridiculous for quality and service
No Warranty shoes - Blow my mind with an acetelyne torch for quality...no service

I have bought in all of the above categories and will continue to do so

Where and what size were the Bayfields? My brown ones were seconds and I'm told the last in the system in those sizes last summer. There were also some Long branches on the seconds website this time, brown ones in particular that I'm kicking myself for missing out on. I got the seconds list from the shoebank (Port Washington), a couple of weeks prior to the sale and then called them up after seeing the Daltons on the seconds website.

The Kenard, Mebane, and Freeport outlets had black Bayfields in 15, unless there was only one pair in a warehouse somewhere and they were all offering to sell it. I got those lists in the middle of last week, so I don't know if they're still available.

Ah, you mentioned Brown which are CXL, yeah the black ones are just calf and I wouldn't wear them enough to justify it.

Does anyone have any info on the Quintons? I saw they had those in my size. Might be a decent replacement for a brown suede strand!

I bought them last year but subsequently returned them back. I didn't care for the look--it has a weird broguing pattern.
