Afraid of listing?

Have you sellers ever been afraid of listing a suit for any reason? For example, I have a RLPL suit about to end that I picked up recently...Thing is, the measurements seem quite funky to me... proportions are very weird. I took accurate measurements, but I have a feeling that whoever wins this suit will get it and flip out because they didn't read my measurements....I don't want to get screwed due to no fault of mine...Thoughts?

If your measurements are accurate, that's on the buyer no harm no foul.

If you post the measurements clearly on this forum, then how will the seller screw you? It's not like he can give you negative feedback here on the forum, and even if he spaminates all your future selling threads, you could just post a link and show how you obviously posted the measurements.

Full disclosure covers everything. Provide accurate measurements, accurate pictures, and an accurate description and you'll be above reproach.

this is on eBay...And, due to the feedback changes, couldn't the buyer basically make a stupid mistake and leave me bad feedback, leaving me with no real recourse?

I like your listing slyced. Have you considered putting a shirt and tie on your dress form? It would look even better.

Thanks! If I can get a shirt and tie to look good on my mannequin, I'd be the happiest person in the world.

Oh....then yeah, you're at the mercy of the idiot buyers. SF is far more civilized.

So it sold for ~274...I'm not gonna lie...This is the first time that I'm actually scared because a thrifted suit ended so high....I hope this ends well, but I have a feeling that it won't.

The measurements seem to be quite consistent to the size. And it is a very nice suit. I hope this (and should) ends well.

I think the listing came off as very honest and forthcoming as to all the details of the suit. The shoulder measurement does seem wide though. 20-inch shoulder on a 42S? Most of the time it's closer to 19.

The English RLPL stuff had rather broad shoulders, esp early on. Ralph was into the English drape look. Still is. Any picture of him in a suit shows shoulders of this kind. Not that it's a bad thing, just not the most current. I have this silhouette in an RLPL coat myself, a sport coat in forest green flannel.

I find this (broad shoulders) is particularly true for DB suits
