Where were the other usual contributors today?! Tdude, PP, et al... If I had a job that required jacket/tie every day, I'd contribute to this thread more often myself... and have reason to expand my Hober collection even further.

In other news, I have an order for two more grenadines which should be shipping very soon. :slayer: Finally got around to ordering the gray piccola #13 (your pics a few weeks ago convinced me to pull the trigger, Syeknom), as well as another navy fina in standard construction to replace my 7-fold that I never actually got around to wearing and decided to sell.

Was out of the office on Thurs/Fri so no ties, Hober or otherwise. Back in the office this week so more pics will be coming. Excellent choices to add to your collection Flyswatter. :nodding:

Good man! :) You will be very pleased with it i'm sure.

Need to order some new hobers myself, it's been too long.

Yes you do need to order more Hobers and...so do I.

:embar: I wore a non-Hober. Rectified for today, but it will be a recent repeat. Great choices fly. I have a navy grossa, but I think I need the fina too!

Yes you do need the fina. I have the navy in both grossa and fina and am glad I do. :nodding:

Dark Chocolate Fina #5:

700

Nice tie, Flyswatter. Is the fina that much lighter than the grossa in this color or is it the picture / my monitor?

Thanks. The color definitely came out pretty light in my pic. IRL, it looks darker in most lighting conditions, though not as dark as it appears on the Hober site. I can't comment on how it compares to the same color in the grossa weave, but I'd be curious to know as well.

Here is a pic of the dark chocolate grossa that I posted a few months back. I imagine lighting is causing most of the difference.

Hi gents, quick question: how shiny are the oxford ties? I'm thinking about picking up one in burnt orange, but I'm not a fan of shiny ties in general - would a grossa be more fitted to my purpose?

^ Re. oxfords generally not as shiny as some of the photographs suggest. Grenadine are lovely, matt but with a deep lustre. Oxford are nice, with a not unattractive sheen. Certainly not shiny like satin.

If you don't like any sheen, and don't yet have sufficient grenadine, grenadine may be the better option.

I wouldn't be without oxfords, though - nice contrast with a 'dry' cloth like nailhead.

Yesterday's Hober, Yellow/Gold Oxford #20:
I was staying away from gold ties but I think you just sold me this one... Also -- is it wrong that my collection is becoming skewed toward Hober dots and pin dots? Feel a bit like Morely Safer.

Thanks for the comparison pic. Even though they look quite different in our photos, I think the dark chocolate fina and grossa are a very similar color, if not identical.

Not at all! Dots and pindots are my favorite patterns for ties, and they're almost as versatile as solids. :nodding:
