While they are good for almost absolutely nothing... here is a pretty good discount I thought I would pass along.

Jos. A. Bank (yes that ****** name has just popped into the thread) is doing a 70% off regular priced items sale. Why post a deal for 70% off of junk you ask?

Because they have shoe trees, collar stays, cedar shoe rack, tie racks, tie bars, etc. Shoe trees come out to $7.50 each. Not bad considering if I even find a pair at a thrift they want at least 5 bucks and always seem to not be the right size for my big feet. Figured it might be useful for some of the basic accessories.

Edit: They do carry Allen Edmonds, but the discount code only works for 25% off of shoes.

70% off code: SEVENTY
Free Shipping Code: FREESHIP

Much Appreciated! More shoe trees!

That one is pretty cool! Your pictures have been great, that new camera must be paying off for you!

I haven't been able to post often in the past couple of weeks, though it's been fun to see what you guys have found! Thanks to everyone that has alerted me to receiving and/or sending their secret santa gifts. Hopefully everyone will get theirs out soon, but if you won't be able to, please let me know so your secret santa doesn't feel that they were forgotten! Mine has been sent, though the guy at the post said it may take a little while to get there this time of year :embar: If my secret santa hasn't received theirs by the end of next week, I'll probably shoot them a PM to let them know.

Since most have opened theirs immediately, feel free to open yours when you receive it. If you wouldn't mind taking and posting some pictures, it would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully most people will have received theirs by the 14th and everyone can post/repost pictures in one collective section of the thread.

Again, if you won't be able to get yours sent soon, please let me know! There have been some awesome gifts sent from what I've see, namely Cotton Dockers and Capnwes (et al), so I have to say that I'm really impressed to see the thought and generosity go into it!

I'm gonna be putting mine together this weekend and sending out on Monday. I can't say it's gonna be as awesome as Cotton Docker's, but heck...

Think I made some good scores today, including my first Loro Piana

First up, i think this is a vintage Abercrombie & Fitch made in New Zealand , let me know what you guys think, hope it was worth the ten spot investment.  It is missing the bottom button but there is an extra button inside, so I just need to talk my wife into fixing that :)

and a really nice Heritage Limited Edition Pendleton.

That A&F jacket is beautiful! Likely dates from the mid-late 70's. They made great quality stuff back in the day. Nice score! Also, PM sent on that Pendleton. :D

Must admit that I wasn't familiar with Oliver Spencer. Probably going up on the Streetwear Denim B&S thread.

What's the deal with that buttoning on the wrong side? Is it reversible?

Probably, I came across something similar a while back. It was definitely men's and buttoned like that, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

I actually picked it up because it reminded of the cardigan dude is wearing at the end of There Will Be Blood. :D

I am thinking of changing the way I look for stuff in thrift stores and perhaps cut my time in half by focussing predominantly in the womans section.

Insane amounts of volume thrifters lately OCD'ing in the menswear section and I am unable to be the early bird at these venues. I arrived half an hour after opening time to find 2 woman with carts overflowing with menswear and at least 4 other guys with stuff in all sizes reamed over their arms.

It is hard work flipping through racks where the 4 GW's I like to frequent have a nasty habit of bunching stuff up making it a tough gig to shift items over. I had to use all my strength to squash all suits and shirts to one side and heard a nasty cracking sound of all the coat hangers splintering. The woman's sections are remarkably well organized, the mens sections are awful to flip through.

I did find a NWOB AE shoes completely unworn. They were in the changing rooms which I do check from time to time. That was just dumb luck. Also picked up an Armani Black Label suit nestled in the womans clothing section. For me, in the woman's section, could have walked away with a Paul Stuart single breasted cashmere overcoat with leather trim on sleeves, lapels, and back - but jacket was orange and leather trim was dark brown - absolutely hideous looking. Decided to leave it there.

Rant over, I am quite pissed off since I worked ****** off today and now have a headache from constantly having to move stuff aside and having 3 or four people surrounding me competitively lifting gear. In the woman's section, wonderful clarity and few ladies and a better probability of finding some nice mens gear hidden in there.
