Just got my #8 J Crew Cap Toes back from B Nelson to replace the double leather sole with Dainite soles. They did a great job! These will be my new rain shoes. Disappointed when I realized that I did not get shoe trees when I got home.
Sounds good, I too would be interested in seeing some pics. Were they do for a re-sole or did you just decide to get them changed out?

The only place that I've worn saddle shoes in the last thirty years is on the golf course. But those #4's are eye catching to say the least. Looking good MrDV!

Thanks for the kind words. Btw, I did golf after work today. I wore my Adidas.

Cigar Medallion Cap Toe

The Cigar Atoms at Leffot are teasing me. Very tempted to pick them up, but it seems that I may be too close to what I already own. What do you guys think? I currently own the pair above, Cigar LWB and Cigar Brixtons.

Very nice cap toes. Leffot's atoms are tempting. I would have bough them, but they didn't have my size available.

You lucky bastard. I'm stuck, because I live, here in MPLS. NO GOLFING TODAY! Wouldn't cha' just know it, snowstorm. The sailors curse and the squinty eye on all those who can play golf while I suffer here in Odin's backyard. Good justification for purchasing some more Alden shell. Right? Speaking of justification, does anyone believe the Leffot Naval Boot and the J Crew cap toe are dissimilar enough to warrant owning both?

I'm not worried about the bow, but the intense restriction feeling sorta kinda kills me. I know they're new and can be stretched, but for $500 I don't want to be in pain/lose circulation. thoughts on amount of break-in/give? Store said I could return/have them stretched if need be.

the store ordered them very narrow for my feet. they fit snug--maybe too snug.
the insole will compresses a little, but not by much. still, this could potentially alleviate the problem. are your toes going numb? gut feeling is return and get one size wider. and the bowing doesn't look too bad--nothing like what you see on the AE thread.

My bad. My memories as a kid growing up in Maryland brought back visions of watching steeplechase at the Hunt Club. The actual name of the store is Hunt Club Clothiers. I've never been there, but a couple of months ago, they had a 20-25% off sale on Alden shoes, mainly their black and color 8 shell standard stuff. I think a few on this thread partook in the sale. Hope this helps...

Damn, I was hoping there was another store to check out down here.

Anyway, the next Hunt Club sale on Alden is in July.

if by travel, you mean flying, then i couldn't think of a worse pair of shoes.
meant from the perspective of getting through security, where the other poster iirc was looking for a solution to not have boots that you'd have to untie

Here are a few pics.

dddrees: They were due for a re-sole. I wore the heck out of these.

Thanks for the pics. It looks like they did a great job. I am highly considering swapping out the sole of my Indys for these
