I welcome the outfit pics. Those PTBs (whiskey I assume?) are awesome.

Yep, the PTBs are whiskey. I only need ravello now, which is harder than I thought. Well #4 too if you want to count that. How many of you guys have Abeerdeen last? How do you like it compared to the typical Barrie?

Thanks.

#8 Captoe Boot for JGilbert, Plaza

1000

Very, very nice! This has me almost regretting the fact I own the J.Crew #8 pct boots, although they are one of my favorites. Dilemma, dilemma...

Another sizing question here, sorry for that.
Could any of you tell my how the Grant last compares to the modified last? Size up 1/2 or 1? Thanks!

Am I the only one with different crease patterns on each foot? My feet are drastically different sizes but the creases aren't similar. Wondering if that happens to anyone else and if so, does it bother you? It's not a bother to me, I enjoy wearing the shoes and only notice it when I brush them after wearing.
happens to me too. i think my left foot is smaller than my right, so the creasing is usually more pronounced on the left. what REALLY bugs me is that tiny crease immediately behind the toebox--forward, even, of where my toes normally break. happens more on my left shoe than my right. ughhh.

Has anyone sized down a full size on chromexcel boots on the barrie last (Roy boot, Leffot plain toe chromexcel boot, etc.) to account for stretching? If so, are you happy with them after they've broken in and stretched out?

I received an email yesterday indicating that Alden prices are about to go up $20-$40 per pair. I apologize if this was addressed upthread, but it's the first I heard of it. The increase will be effective at the end of the month.

The fellas with the indy boots with the normal ortho heel. What has been your replacment choices once they have worn down. did you get a replacement from Alden or go with another brand. I know for sure I will put heel taps on next go around, these suckers wore down fast.

Anyone?

FWIW.  I know a guy (Actually he was the proprietor of a small shoe store that sells Aldens) who replaced the ortho heel with something else when it wore out.  It changed the way he walked and consequently caused a second set of creases on his Indys.

RE: Mac method indoors (lost my quote in the response)

I agree, I can determine fit better on a hard surface better than thick, plush carpet. However as I'm sure you know, The idea of carpet is to ensure that you can return the item as new. I tend to use "carpet" and "indoors" interchangeably.

I'm looking for recommendations in picking one (sadly one as I know both are awesome) NST shoe between color #8 and cigar. Which in your eyes looks better or is more versatile?
I do have a bordeauex vass shell similar I guess to #8 but dont have a #8 as such and I have heard ithey are different. I plan to wear them as as s semiformal dress shoe.

I'm wearing the cigar NST as I type. Picked it with the idea that the #8 is easier to find on a moments notice. My thought is that #8 is more formal as a darker color and with the dark welt and sole edge. Will be interested to see what others think.
