Couldn't sleep tonight, so had an extended mac/reno session with my Cigar LWBs, CXL Indys, and #8 974s.

These are quite lovely - denim? PBJ xx005? Momotaro 702?

Just wondering is there a list somewhere of all the different companies that have their own versions of Alden's (i.e. Blackbird, LeatherSoul, etc.)?

Been wanting AF43s for a long time now and think I might be close to pulling the trigger soon. What's sizing like for the ones you own, where did you buy them from and most importantly let's see pics of your Aldens. I'm editing this post to put in borderline's Alden dealers: Leather Soul http://www.leathersoulhawaii.com/category/brands/alden/ Many special items, rapid sellouts, stores in Hawaii and Beverly Hills The Shoe Mart http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-shoes/bt-ald.html Online with shop in Connecticut. Many styles. Alden Shop http://www.aldenshop.com/ Online with shop in San Francisco. Many styles. O'Connells http://shop.oconnellsclothing.com/dress_shoes.php Sherman Brothers http://www.shermanbrothers.com/brand...S&BrandCode=AL Three stores in Pennsylvania. Occasional sales. J. Crew http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/s...enForJCrew.jsp Indy Boots and Longwings Winn Perry http://shop.winnperry.com/collections/alden Special items, including waterlock soles Leffot http://blog.leffot.com/category/footwear/alden-brands/ Special items, store in NY Ben Silver http://www.bensilver.com/Alden-American-Shoes.html Orvis http://www.orvis.com/ A few models. Moulded Shoe http://mouldedshoe.com/alden1.html Specializes in Modified Last, located in NYC. Unionmade http://www.unionmadegoods.com/alden_Mens.html Blackbird http://www.blackbirdballard.com/Alden_Mens.html Context http://www.contextclothing.com/brand.php?brand=Alden Some collaborations. Epaulet http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...den/Categories Special items, located in Brooklyn, NY. Renners Fine Boots & Shoes http://www.rennersbootsshoes.com/aldenshoes1.html Renners has a decent selection of Alden shoes and boots and their customer service is great. Sky Valet http://www.skyvalet1.com/Alden.aspx Mail order plus shop in Washington, D.C. Europe: The Bureau http://www.thebureaubelfast.com/shop/brand/58/alden/ Menswear store in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The treadstarter would get you in the right direction. Since it was 2008 it might need a bit of adding and subtracting with Winn Perry gone. But you can add in Tassels HK, Tres Bien, Frans Boone...

In light of your photo an Orson Wells quote:

"Create your own visual style... let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others"

Not until the tax return comes and we can invest in a decent camera. Have taken enough flak for my crappy Galaxy 1 photos in other threads :embar:

Just curious, but is this new? I've never seen it before and it looks like it has crepe sole? It is also cheaper at $280 retail, well cheaper by Alden standards I guess.

Alden 6-eyelett chukka (shoes are neither as dusty or as creased as they appear in the photos, I blame an iPhone and the lighting):

I needed a pair of black shoes in my rotation and wanted to give a shout out to CTYGGG who posted up his 6-eyelett chukkas a while back and inspired me to go out and get these. It's really a nice makeup and I'm glad I got a boot since I will likely get much more use out of them compared to a shoe.

Looking good, enjoy wearing them! The six eyelet chukka is by far superior to the two eyelet version for fit & the close heel and flat welt really dress it up. Would love to see a retailer do a make-up of this in cigar or ravello. Again nice purchase & wear them in health.

Thanks for showing. Those look great, especially the Black shell. I'm a big fan of the 6 eyelet chukka.

Close guesses! Actually it's canvas from North Carolina's Cone Mills by Rogue Territory

localman, any more pics? Did you end up sizing down or go true-to-size? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on TheShoeMart's since J.Crew's is a 3 month wait for me

Does it make sense that 2 different Alden models on the Barrie last would fit differently? I wear a 10.5D in general, and a 10D Barrie LWB in calfskin (so far no surprise). But I ordered the J Crew cordovan captoe also on the Barrie, and the 10D feels snug in front, on the right side of the right shoe. Is there often variability in sizing between models on the same last? Perhaps it's the cordovan vs the calfskin?

I actually thought the same thing. I have a couple of pairs of shell cordovan LWB in 10 D. I recently purchased a whiskey shell PTB in 10 D, and it felt noticeably more snug. Do y'all think I need to order a wider size (10 E) for the PTB?

See, there are things we can agree on - those are hideous.

They should make up a longwing with that sole for the ultimate in trendy tackiness (worn with high water pants and no socks of course).
