That was my impression as well.

Hmm, might be a difference of age. The lighter pair seems to have a bit more wear to them.

Yep, they come from two separate pair, not within the same pair.

I've seen some awesome shoes and boots the last few days.  Congrats to all of you!

See Ya,

Just took receipt of my Leffot Daytrippers. Stunning boot but disappointed because the leather has imperfections (tiny black spots due to a possible bad dye job?). I'm wondering if it would be unreasonable to ask Leffot for a partial discount. I want to keep the boots, and I hate to be the guy looking for perfection, so do you think Leffot would laugh if I asked this?

Depends on the spots. Sometimes the lighter colors have these spots due to imperfections in the hide and not bad dye applications.

Pics would go a long way.

this sounds very normal for ravello and lighter colored shell. Would need to see pics but unless its egregious you aren't getting a discount. Leffot would rather just sell them to someone else

Both look really nice. Can someone enlighten me regarding alpine grain leather? The ad copy always seems to indicate that it's more appropriate for foul weather; is that just because the texture makes the usual imperfections caused by moisture less noticeable, or is there some property inherent in alpine grain leather itself that makes it better in wet conditions?

Does this fade away over time?

Those black spots are there for good. I'd return them. There's nothing wrong with high standards, but you might wait a very long time for a replacement pair.

That looks to be imperfections in the hide. They will not go away with time.

I only own a few pairs of ravello but in my opinion there is nothing normal about that. Dealing with Leffott is a mixed bag. My Tankers came with an obvious flaw and the Sales Associate was one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. I posted my experience on this site, which got plenty of comments and the next day the owner emailed me and indicated that they would offer me 20% off or refund my money (after my treatment, I had no interest in store credit). The owner was very nice to deal with.

The problem is that ravello boots are so hard to come by (as are their Tankers) so they Amy not be willing to deal. But it is certainly worth asking. Good luck.
