Ok, I wore these Friday all day, then at night out until 4:00 AM and then again on Sunday and all day today, pic taken this evening.

Alden Cap Toe Boot, #8 shell, modified last *seconds*:

I have nor been wearing as much as they deserve. I think it is because of not having speed laces but they have softened up a bit and are not a hassle to lace so I will try to wear them more. I may just give up on maintenance to establish a more beat up look for these.

But they are all loafers and Mocs....which I do not think is a fair way to compare Alden quality with shell as, and I am speaking out of ****** here, the pieces do not have to be as large and can cover up the flaws. Also I notice they do not state they get their shell from Horween....they may but if they get it from another party pricing and quality may be different.

It's from Horween just like (nearly) every major producer of shoes.

Rancourt shoes are different than Alden, and I'm not saying Rancourts are superior - simply that they're a similar or cheaper source of shell shoes for people looking to explore other options.

Rancourt will also take a tracing of your foot and build your shoe around whatever size/width corresponds most closely. Kyle Rancourt is a super nice guy as well.

Shell, MTO, American made...and it means a lot to me that Brooks Brothers sells them. What is not to like! :)

God, I live in NYC, have never been to Leffot and don't intend to, because I fear being bankrupted.

All, the Whiskey shortwing boot MTO order that I was trying to put together seems to be working out and we are going to place the order with a friendly retailer this weekend, so if you have any interest, please let me know by Saturday October 8th, so you can be included in the preorder.

The specs are as follows:

Whiskey Shell
Plaza Last
Full Eyelets (matching)
Antique Edge Trim
Closed Heel/Flat Welt
Commando Sole

If you are seriously interested, please pass along your email address and shoe size on the Plaza last to me via PM, so I can send it along to the retailer. He will contact you directly for the 50% deposit that will be required and then the order can be placed. The retailer anticipates the boots being ready in 6 - 12 months, but obviously we are the whim of Alden -- wait will be worthwhile, however, in my opinion.

Pretty excited -- I think it's going to be a pretty badass and unique boot. Haven't seen anything similar out on the marketplace.

Nice, thats what I'm doing with my jumpers...wearing em to death...in fact today will be the first time since I cared about clothing that I'll be in the same pair of shoes on back to back days!
