Most insoles are cheap enough and can be cut to fit the last. Just give a couple a try and see how it goes. Most drug stores carry them.

Does Leathersoul still have this boot? Checked their website and it doesn't appear so. Are these the same as what J.Crew is currently selling? They are amazing!

Overall, the same model...but there are slight differences. From looking at the pictures, the LS version has speed hooks, while J. Crew's doesn't. J. Crew's is also on a Barrie last, which runs .5 size bigger.

There may be more differences, but those are the 2 I can point out at the moment.

Cheers mate.

From what I can see, there are quite a few substantial differences between my boot and the j.crew one.

Firstly, and most obviously, my captoe is not perforated like j.crew's. There is also no stitching along the ankle on mine, as there seems to be on j.crew's.

As mentioned above, theirs is on the Barrie last, whilst mine is Plaza last.

Plaza is by far the "dressier" of the two, being a very slim last, whilst the Barrie is rather wide, and though I like it, appears more "bulbous" and unflattering if you wear slim jeans/trousers with it.

I have a pair of those in brown (also in Scotch grain calfskin) coming in on Saturday...cannot wait to rock them.

I wanted a pair of the Chromexcel wing tip boots from LSBH, but my size is all gone.

I will wait to see what kind of Chromexcel Aldens I can get to substitute for them.

"Antiqued burgundy."

Definitely not brick red. It leans more toward brown, they are fairly dark in person, but you can see the burgundy color.

Thanks for the comments.
Having just reread my post, I could have been more clear...It is the boot you have that I think looks amazing, not the J. Crew

In my experience, they run 1/4 to 1/2 size large. I'm a 9D but my 974s on the Grant last are 8.5D. My feet were swimming in the 9D, and they're snug in the 8.5D, but as the shell broke in they formed perfectly to my feet.

I really, really like the Grant last - I think it has some (not all) of the heft of the Barrie with a slightly more refined shape. I think the 974 on the Grant is as iconic and timeless as the 975 and 990 on the Barrie or the 986 on the Van, but for some reason the Grant gets no love.

All three of my entries in the Leathersoul contest were on Grant last, which will probably reduce the possibility of overlap with other contestants but hurt my chances overall. Still, I would like to see more Alden models, especially boots, on the Grant.

I agree. I am normally US 10D and thus wear 9.5D for Barrie and Trubalance or 9E for certain styles in the said lasts. My US 10D BBBF longwings run large. Although I did not have the opportunity to try 9.5D for the said longwings, I believe they would fit tight. Hence I guess 9.5E would be my ideal fit for the Grant last, provided that this last comes in widths other than D because not all lasts of Alden are available in all widths.
