A few questions for the community:

- any reservations about wearing chucka's all year ( or at least 3 of the 4 seasons)?

- Shoemart has the option of Ravello Shell chucka's that look more like whiskey. Are there variations on some of the hard-to-find colors between retailers (I.e. would a Ravello from Shoemart look different than a Ravello from alden of Madison)?

- Is there a magic secret to finding a pair of Alden's in one of the less common colors or is it simply a matter of searching and persistence?

As always, your input is appreciated.

I have no reservations about wearing chukkas all year long. I wear both my suede and shell chukkas anytime of year (and am considering adding a CXL chukka as well). The only time I don't wear the suede is in the winter when there is enough snow or ice on the ground that I need to worry about salt.

I think the variations that you will see between the shades of ravello and cigar and whiskey from retailer to retailer will have more to do with the batch of shell from Horween rather than the particular retailer.

Searching and persistence (and pre-orders to a lesser extent) are your friend when waiting on shell in colors other than #8 or black.

Ravello shell varies pretty widely from batch to batch, but as long as its from alden, it wouldn't vary any more than just from natural dye levels

And finding Alden's in ravello or whiskey is luck. Pure luck. Or having tons of money. And budding crazy high on ebay

I think chukkas are appropriate year round. They aren't too hot during the summer like most high boots.

Just snagged some lightly worn #8 PTB off eBay for next to nothing. The soles are pretty scuffed up, but they don't look to have much creasing. Couldn't believe I found a Barrie shoe in my size (12B), can't wait till these ship out!

Do you know what model number that is? I'd be done to start and MTO group Sazon you make three?
Oh yes, if that gets done in #8 plaza (or barrie, 2nd choice) I would be in!

Another excellent ensemble MrDV ! Wow. Thanks to all for the compliments on my Whiskey LWB w/purple socks yesterday. Truth be told, I didn't plan that one at all. I had just come back from a weekend away and those purple socks were unworn from the weekend and at the top of my bag, so I just grabbed them. Randomness works sometimes, I guess.
