I agree, not just anyone can pull off the tassel look... ...but when done correctly, they are tough to compete with.

I like the cigar tassels. May get them if the 13d NST lace up on Aberdeen fits OK. I think they look fantastic! See Ya, Steve

Glad I checked before applying any products to my boots.

If you don't want to darken it than positively don't use Meltonian cream, even if "neutral."

Get yourself some Saphir Renovateur, and use it sparingly.

Also of note: Natural CXL will always darken over time with wear and subsequent care. Expect this. Embrace it. Meltonian will speed up this process significantly and turn the boots quickly to a more golden tone, away from the grey/beige they start out. A good, clean, stiff brush is your best friend.

This is an evolution of my NatCXL Indys using only Meltonian, before springing for Saphir at the advice of board-knowledge.

Same here. Whenever I see chukka I think of Will Ferrell in that Elf movie. But, I also think there's a time and a place for chukkas. Maybe I'll change my mind someday. I used to dislike NST's but now I like them

While I don't care for David Beckham, I think this particular ensemble is pretty cool. I believe his pants are navy, which looks perfectly fine with more navy, and snuff suede chukkas.

Cool photo from Leffot's tumblr... The longwing in snuff suede looks very good... I highly recommend at least one non-cordovan longwing for casual wear (chromexcel or suede)

Frans Boone has a snuff suede parajumper boot and a marble suede Indy boot up online... A lot of sizes are available in the marble suede (I would have considered it if 9.5E was available).
