andre 3000 is the only dapper rapper whose photo adorns the walls of bergdorf goodman. i've seen some of these pieces (oxfords, ref cardigan, BXY sweater) already on sale at the co-op in georgetown. the fit seems rather big, meant for more muscular builds, specifically it seems like he's aiming for the "g's to gents" demographic, larger-built men who want to step their style up, at least with the basic pieces like the oxford shirts and polos.

This is like the Dartmouth class year sweaters, only it looks like it fits much better, has leather elbow patches, and is red instead of green.
Dartmouth used to give out class year sweaters to freshman / varsity athletes, but back then it was a boat neck or U-neck (not sure). Now anyone can buy the class year sweater in a crew neck and you get a Uneck/boat neck sweater with a big white D in the middle if you are a varsity athlete.

The whole line gets a 'meh' from me. I can find almost identical items at jcrew or ralph lauren, and if I wanted to pay their retail prices I'd just shop Band of Black Fleece. There's only room for so many vintage prep brands.

It anoys me that there's so much design talent that can't get a break and this **** ends up at Barney's because of the celebrity association. I'm so happy it's stuck on the sales racks at 75% off and now excess inventory's ending up on Gilt. The people have spoken, Andre's music is mediocre and his Ralph Lauren inspired clothes more so.

I picked up a OCBD for $60 at Barneys.. slimmer cut than J.Crew, Rugby, etc.. better quality too.
