Aaaah, I totally missed that episode. I haven't seen the first season in its entirety. But, it does explain a lot. And, I agree that it would be too predictable, but, I wouldn't avert my eyes from the juiciness.

i really wish Hong Kong would pick this show up...out of curiosity i browsed a couple of snippets from Youtube - in particular the Kodak 'Carousel' pitch scene was one of the most intense and brilliantly complex moments of television i've ever seen.

I need to see Episode 6, holy crap.

Everyday I check, still not uploaded; It is nerve wracking.

I wish Don was still seeing either of the gals from season 1; Bobbie is not only un-attractive physically, her personality is awful.

I am hoping that Don Bumping into Rachel is foreshadowing something to come later on in the season. She was too strong of a character to just let fall by the wayside, as was Midge.

I guess I should shut up since I haven't seen Sundays episode.

Colin Hanks totally breeched priestly confidentiality in Episode 5, I didn't see that coming at all.

A torrent is on mininova and has been for the last couple of days... unfortunately my connection has been 'shaped' for going over my limit and it is currently downloading at the blistering rate of 2kbs!

The show often has a few scenes providing a glimpse of life and attitudes in the pre-sexual revolution/civil rights 60s. The littering suggested it was a representative attitude for the upper middle class back then. At least, that's how I took it. The scene was still funny, since it was set up with Betty telling her daughter that talking about money was impolite.

^ I really liked the scene from Season 1 where the kids are caught playing with the laundry bag over their head. Made me laugh.

That episode was heavy. Damn. Don's pretty car got barfed upon.

I think the litter was indeed representative. It's still like that today in the 3rd world, and I doubt we would have needed the crying Indian Chief commercials in my early 70's childhood if people weren't chronic litterbugs before then.

I was waiting for the crying Chief. Maybe S-C will come up with the ad.

I really dislike how the site i've been using sucks.

Episode 6 is still not available, and episode 7 is all glitchy at the end.

There was garbage everywhere in the 60s, but it's not as if the garbage can was invented in 1974.

Draper tossing his beer can rang true, but Betty flipping the blanket wasn't even close. I don't think that this fastidious woman (as seen in her dress and house) would be quite so cavalier with her trash and once again the writers missed an opportunity for foreshadowing some conflict between the two.

This was yet another example of the producers putting way to much emphasis on badly conceived period issues (Look! Look! We used to throw garbage in the parks! Crazy huh?) while ignoring some desperately needed plot points (Draper's former life for example is rapidly becoming a yawn) or at the very least a character that the audience can relate to and pull for. Still waiting for the last one, actually. At this point I'm leaning towards the elevator operator.

The new young creative team (did it surprise anyone else that they were hired) is a good example of sloppy writing. First off, they're announced as being only 25 years of age. Draper is 36. How old do we think Campbell, Kinsey or Cosgrove are? 26? 27? If anything, these guys should be relating to the new team - especially Peggy who is desperately looking for someone to support her and respect her creative chops. It even seemed awkward that Duck brought them in. It should have been Campbell who suggested it to Duck in an attempt to undermine Draper. Otherwise, the whole "I know who you are" plotline is wasted.

I agree that it's pretty to look at, but the show is seriously flawed.
