If I hadn't been stuck in Minnesota half the week leaving my wife with the 2 1/2 year old a 2 month old I would be...what's your excuse??? :)

Yes, those are the ones

If I would have known about it before Tuesday, I'd be there.

Maybe slightly off-topic, but with the CXL MTOs it had me wondering - how do you guys care for CXL? Just the standard cleaner/conditioner then premium polish, or do you have to use something like leather lotion or whatever instead?

Damp cloth and brush after each wear, and I hit them with saphir reno two or three times per year.

Well...the good news is my MTO arrived and the bad news is they were made incorrectly. They did the natural welt but for some reason used black stitching instead of tan. It looks odd to me as it is not what I envisioned but maybe you guys think differently...

That's how the buff reverse welt was done on my tan dublin Bayfields; it's not what I expected either, but on mine it works really well against the black vibram lugged sole.

The aesthetic is less clearcut against red dainite. I'd keep 'em, if it were me.

I kept my McGillicuddy MTOs that arrived on Wednesday, even though the Poiron Insole and Flat Laces didn't happen and the stitching and the split reverse welt was black rather than brown (at least brown and black start with the same letter, it's only an 80% mistake). Allison is sending some Flat Laces, so that's taken care of.

MTOs are probably like relationships, one shouldn't expect too much. I had originally wanted Walnut Grain Calf, but there was a problem cutting the upper and there wasn't any more Walnut Grain Calf, so I got English Tan Dublin Leather, which is busy doing it's Dublin Leather thing and changing color and bubbling and other stuff like those things at Yellowstone that change color and bubble.

I am thinking about getting some Chili Grain Calf McAllister MTOs, but I will keep it simple and just hope to get Danite soles, Poiron insoles, and flat laces.

I would not keep them, it isn't what you paid for. Shoes look great IMO.
Thanks! yeah they are really nice but it is kind of a deal breaker for me. The idea was a nice light looking shoe for spring and the dark stitching just doesn't make sense in context to the rest of the shoe. we'll see what AE says about it...

Boys, I just took delivery of my MTO Golden Brown CXL MacNeil's. Very happy with them -- the tone of the golden brown Horween leather is very nice. Here are some snapshots and specs listed below.

MacNeil MTO:

Full Specs:
- MacNeil
-Leather: Golden Brown Chromexcel Leather
- Exposed antique brass eyelets
- Natural split reverse welt
- Natural edge dressing
- Double Rendenbach outsole
- Contrast tan Stitching
- Brown Leather Insole
- Off-White/Cream colored Welt Stitching Color

Between these and the Jefferson MTO you win the AE MTO thread.

First time posting here, and my first MTO. Starting talking to Allison about these in late November, so they were a while in the making. I have to say, they are truly really nice. I love them. In person, they are a lot nicer than these poor iPhone pictures lead on. My only regret is not asking for all eyelets (not sure what I was thinking at the time, im not a speed hook guy.) Still very satisfied. I've since replaced the laces with flat laces, brown. Applying nano spray today, and will wear them for the first time either tomorrow or sunday most likely.

What I sent allison, verbatim:
Eagle County Boot 12D:
-Snuff Suede upper, with red regular lining and insole
-Tone on tone stitching
-Light brown flat welt with matching (close as is possible, black is acceptable too if it matches closest) welt stiching
-Light brown transparent sole edge
-Light brown transparent mid sole
-360 Degree welt is fine
-Top 4 speed hooks, the rest eyelets, all in copper
-Mini Lug Tape sole. (heel pad and leather sock line are fine with me.)

I see these eagle county MTO's and wonder what the eff they were thinking.

The snuff suede version of that boot is so freaking awesome. If they were to introduce that, it would sell like woah.
