I agree whole heartedly. I have a gray and two navy's with a third on its way (and another gray, but it looks like an orphaned suit jacket). When I joined SF all I had were solid suits (with an odd pin stripe or herringbone), so my knee jerk reaction was to purchase non-solid sport coats. Now I've figured out what I like (and what I like are solids). I think the only exception I'll be making as far as non-solid SC's will be for British tailoring from the 1960's (that jacket is 1967 Chester Barrie)

Double breasted Sunday.

really great stuff. I'd prefer the overcoat sleeves a little bit shorter though. still, everything is top notch.

I don't understand the logic of an incredibly fussy white French cuff shirt, no tie, pocket square, pin striped coat, woven belt, etc. But even if I could get over all that, I don't think I could ever accept the method of rolling the outfit up in a ball, putting it in a sack, and sitting on it for several hours, in lieu of the more common approach of laundry and pressing.

I'm never entirely sure how to wear a striped shirt and tie. You make it look easy.

NICE jacket, good shoes... the rest of the ensemble isn't me; but that's great, it works. I am just not that stand-outish! I prefer understatement. :)
