Not sure what to make of this. I like the jacket, and the tie's pattern goes well with it. But is the tie really that wide? And the loafers mean that enough of sock shows to be a bit jarring. Feels like a 90% look, not quite meshing. But a neat idea to use that jacket/tie pattern blend.

Now that winter is here, I just haven't got any natural light in my usual photo-taking spot. So having to use lots of flash now to even get any sort of clarity. Sorry; just the way it's got to be until Spring.

Everything here is clearly awesome but I'd like to see you in a spread collar shirt, the points kill me.

Love the Ford three-piece suit. It fits you perfectly. When you add the tie and ps, you have a superb look.

While there's an argument that the tie doesn't need to reach the belt of low rise trousers, this one should absolutely be tied longer. You're kinda swimming in that suit. Old dog is probably on the extreme loose end of the range I'd consider wearing a suit.

To be fair, the tie is far from being the worst part of that ensemble.

What are the rules for wearing sweaters with suits?

As with all things aesthetic, it just has to look good. On a practical note, it has to be cold enough also.

But really, I like the contrast. That shade of gray on my screen looks really light, the sweater contrasts nicely.

Is that overcoat made of the same cloth? I can't really tell, but they look similar. Haven't seen this before.... Shades of gray indeed today.

You might find this handy:

Thanks, man. This is pretty exhaustive.

On a serious note, I'm still unsure about combining suits and sweaters. I like Vox's example, but could one do a v-neck with a navy or charcoal suit. "Whether it looks good" is the correct criterion, but there are disagreements regarding what looks good. Will sported the other day a Tatterstall odd vest with a suit and it looked good, but at the same time I kept wondering if that's mixing apples and oranges.

Do what looks good to you. Generally, try to avoid really lightweight suitings with super-chunky knitwear and vice-versa, but there are probably some successful examples of each.
