Is there anyone here that wears a US9D? Do you wear a EU42 or 42.5 on the U-last? What about the F last? I'm starting to think I like the F last better because it has a more rounded toe. I don't know if my feet can take punishment from a tapered toe box on the U last.

Tbh I would suggest just taking the plunge and see how it works out, I did and in the end they where half a size to big but since Vass exchanges them for you it isn't really a problem, besides the waiting.

I don't intend to. What do you wear in classic lasts?

Size up half for U last.

Unless you have very narrow feet.

10D = 43 F last.

I meant I would not size up going from U to F as the fit is essentially the same in the heel, instep and forefoot. So if U fits you well in all those areas, so will F, but with more room in the toe box.

I wear the same size 43 in U F and K lasts.

I do not have narrow feet. They are slightly wide with a slightly higher instep.

Thanks Roger. Think my next kop will be P2, I'll stick with the same size I think

I say 42.5. 5-last is narrow in D width, and F is not a super-narrow last.

Any of you gents know how the Vass last compare to Edward Green last's?

I was looking at their boots the 88 with vibram sole but the lady said this is made on a wide last.

I take a size 8 on the EG 64 last , would that be a 42 in Vass?

She did also mention the New Peter last so it would be helpful to get a comparison on this also.

Thank you

Farhad - which Vass last? I wear a UK 9 in an E width on EG 888 and 82 lasts. I wear a 43 in Vass U, K and F lasts.

For my part, a 9UK in both 82, 888 and 202 lasts and a 42,5 in Vass F Last.

9.5F/G on EG/G&G, 43.5 wide on U and 43 wide on F.

Looking to join the VASS club. Aside from getting my wide fit MTO, does Vass lasts fit wider than GG lasts in general?
^^^ In general terms, I would say yes. G&G is one of the few manufactureres where I would have to go up to UK 9.5 in their standard width (or get a wide fitting on a UK9).

For me, 8UK EG 888 and 41.5 F last.

The Vass last is 3636. , this is the one she said is quite a wide last.

I think it will be ok for me in a size 8 (42) then as the EG 64 last is also quite generous.

That's my understanding as well, and it certainly looks like a wide last from the photos I have seen.  I have never tried one on, though.
