The problem mostly exists in the minds of the handful of creepy dudes who post on FNB. Hello gentleman from FNB who are surely reading this thread.

There's nothing like worshiping at the alter of truth.

It might be that the twinkle in his eye gives those grey suits a sort of Weimaraner cast. Though, I dont think this is Rubeanacci's fault.

Sometimes Foo's clothes behave better than he does.

For this suit, he just made me the same thing he always makes for me.

I didn't tell Solito anything other than the details (3 button roll through, pocket configuration, etc.) and that I wanted room to move. I said that I liked what he makes for Maurizio Marinella and asked him just to make that.

I'm very interested in seeing how my suit turns out in comparison to yours. I specifically requested the skinny Neapolitan-style trousers from Ambrosi, and with Solito I hold him to keep it thin but make it however he thinks it'll fit me best (I'm quite skinny with tiny shoulders). I think all he asked about was if I wanted patch pockets (I said no) and whether or not I wanted full or half lining (I said its up to him).

Really, really expensive. Too expensive for law students, first year associates, and bankers under 40.

Indeed, you need a Phd to buy into his club.

Did I ever tell you about the underwear maker I found out of Crotone? Or the nosehair trimmer maker out of Campobasso?

We could send an iGent in there as a sort of agent in disguise. He would for all intents and purposes seem like a normal customer but he would be indoctrinated with every forum iTailoring legend and so armed could watch Rubenacci perform his craft, then report back about the secret ingredients.

Some of the stuff there, especially relating to Foo has gotten out of hand nasty and personal - it is like the manton obsession again.

But I was asking if there is any substance to the Rubinacci critique. So far, no one has offered any, so I assume the answer is no.

Will Rubinacci make a black business suit? If so, should it be 3 buttons or 2?

This is also true of all shoes more pricey than AEs. Or so I hear.

If you find your AEs as seconds, there might be enough left over for the first monthly installment on a Baroni.

I'm thinking of buying a whinery and need barrels. Does anybody know a reputable maker? Rubinacci is too expensive.

My overall impression of R's work is balanced but definitely tilted strongly towards the positive.

However, here are some negatives as you're specifically asking for critique:
1. It's unbelievably expensive (the most?) so there is an expectation of absolute perfection that is impossible to meet
2. I have been called names before for daring to express this opinon on SF but mafoo's R's garments are not all very good looking - especially given expectations mentioned in § 1.
3. I have my doubts on R's ability to deal with difficult physiques - foo's wide lapels and 4x1 db are examples of things that IMO don't work at all with his height (I know, I know... he doesn't mind being short and doesn't try to mitigate that; I also know that I have to be blind or know nothing about fit to say something like this)
4. The full sleeves - depending on the cloth, these can look OK or like a strange aesthetic statement to me. I don't get them
5. "The best" - this is somewhat related to § 1 but not limited to price. The SF common knowledge that R is "the best" is a bit annoying, and there has to be some skepticism and a level of backlash that comes with this being rammed down our throat on a daily basis

If this was another round of snarkfest triggered by something I missed over the weekend, pls disregard the above.
