*snigger* oh well, if anyone can look at the names of these two Saigon restaurants without sniggering, they are a better man than me!

Just had red curry prawns with potatoes, cauliflower and steamed rice, washed down with a bottle of Tao Ti Apple green tea. Thought the curry was lacking in flavor and did nothing for the prawns, but then again my housekeeper never had much flair for the kitchen...

Made two classic Chinese dishes tonight: steamed chicken and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce. Eat with fried rice and a ginger/garlic/scallion dipping sauce. Heineken, the best beer with Chinese food.

Yesterday was my girlfriend's birthday, so we went to the nicest place in town (which still isn't much). Started off with some lobster/crab stuffed mushroom caps, then she had some chicken dish and I had a shrimp/scallops/whitefish plate. We were both very satisfied.

Also tried my first Manhattan. I'm a fan!

Good call on the Valpolicella. One of my favorites. My wife and I cooked salmon, wild rice, and steam corn.
