RJMAN ,we're both dreamers...

Without dreams and passion, clothes have no interest, except being sadly functional...I would advise anybody to buy some dream because we need it to functionate as human beings...

In other words, we all need dreams to take us away from our own private Folkestones.

I don't know, the appearance on the front steps of a well timed green box can be pretty darn happiness inducing from time to time.

We all have a private Idaho ,a place where beauty and elegance are effortless...
Manton , i do remember the excitement of the UPS package waiting for me and the little wonders waiting for us inside...

UPS packages are like dates ,we can be very disappointed once we have opened the box or pulled the ribbon......

Lasbar, you certainly have a unique way of putting things. Your comment enhances something to so many totally simple as a shoe purchase with a deeply philosophical and sensual quality. I know exactly what you mean ... Is that just beautiful or in fact a highly sophisticated yet psycho-pathological type of retail therapy?

If only I lived in an area where shoe shopping involved anecdotes other than "They're made at the Peal factory."

Mostly online ordering/eBay/SF for me. My success rate has been pretty good, thanks to the forums.

What Fairy said. That's one of the reasons I flew all to way to Budapest, once I figured out the fit on all the Vass lasts, I order direct. I also need to try slip-ons & laced-ups made on the last as they fit differently.

If there are deals to be had I will order sight unseen, and sell anything I don't like or that doesn't fit on ebay, usually for a small profit.

I've admired the Kitons in your last WAYWN posts; were those from a trip to Italy?

My favourite shoe shopping experiences have been at the factory shops - it's nice to have all of the shoes available in your size at hand for you to try on without having to bother any of the staff.

Also fun when the shoes are kept in boxes and you have no idea what they look like until you open the box. I was pretty pleased when I found these in a box with no model name:

Even more fun (and somewhat more dangerous) when you go with a fellow shopper and egg each other on...
