Do you only wear dress shirts when going to work or do you wear them out of the office? Like outside when going places or just lounging around like a sports shirt?

Dress shirts are cotton, right? I wear them out after work if I wear an odd jacket, or when it's hot out without a jacket. But if it's hot, I prefer 'sport shirts' of the same general appearance. The difference is they are made of linen and I roll up the sleeves a little.

Generally I don't wear them if not working but if I do then it is probably because I go out in the evening (clubs etc.)

I have my shirts made short, so I can wear them tucked when off to work, and untucked when with jeans on weekends.

I don't work. I wear a dress shirt every day of the week. All of my shirts are dress shirts.

When you say "dress shirt" do you mean specifically a shirt with French cuffs? Those I never wear. I don't even think I own one. I've always kinda bristled at the term "dress shirt." A shirt is a shirt. But perhaps what I consider a "shirt" (as opposed to a jersey) is actually a "sports shirt."

Shirts, I wear all the time. Most of the ones I wear casually have some kind of fraying or pen mark on them, that has knocked them out of the work rotation.

I have shirts that are dressier that I only wear for work. I have over shirts that may be considered dress shirts but are slightly more casual due to the patterns or material. I wear these the rest of the time. They are actually kept in different closets.

Do you think its better to keep your nice dress shirts in the closet and more sporty dressy shirts for going outside, to the park, etc?

I wear dress shirts 6-7 days a week. Occasionally on weekends I'll wear a polo and jeans/chinos or maybe even just a tee if I'm only planning on lounging around the house. More often than not if I'm leaving the house it will be in a dress shirt.

+1

I live in Manhattan, so unless I'm running or going to a ballgame (must remember not to wear a suit to work tomorrow) or something along those lines, I wear at least a sportcoat and nice jeans.

I like the feeling and looks of a nice shirt. So I pretty much wear them everyday. Sometimes, if it's extremely hot outside, then I might go for a Polo shirt. But that's the exception.
