I wear a nike 13, an adidas 13, and I wear a 12 alden hampton an a 12 alden Leydon last. And I wear a 11.5 barrie and a 11.5 trubalance last. It is weird for a nube, to size down that far, it was weird for me, but that is the way they are sized. You are not alone in buying a shoe too large the first time around. A lot of people do, and I did too. And they are still for sale! SZ13 Leydon last 1494 chukkas!

When I received my 10E Rough Roys, however, they seem way too big. Here are some photos (the last one is a comparison to a Clarks DB in size 10 that fits me well)...what do you guys think? Is this how these boots are supposed to fit or are they too big?

They didn't have anything in a Trubalance last and the 10 I tried on (I think it was a Barrie?) felt fine lengthwise, but narrow. Which is part of why this is so confusing.

Check out Winn Perry, they have the little tanks on the Barrie. Both earth and tobacco are in stock in a 9.5D, and cheaper than Context. Here's the link… http://shop.winnperry.com/products/a...-chamois-boots Hope this helps.

I'm looking to buy my first pair on boots, and have my eye on a pair of Alden Indy's. Problem is that I live in Australia and I don't know of any places where I live that sells them, so I must go online. I tried to buy them off Shoe Mart recently, but for some reason they don't ship the Indy's internationally. Can anyone give me some reliable online shops where Indy's are available and won't cost me an arm and a leg to ship to Australia? Any help would be much appreciated.

check who this thread is supported by, i think they ship worldwide.

Glad you said this
I spaced that I did actually have a cobbler do some stretching in the width when I went down a full size. I would've been better off going up one width, however, got my indys on B&S and didn't have that option!
They likely would've been fine w/ just some steady wear, however, I do feel that having them stretched a bit in width helped speed along the process.

Either way, love the boot.

E is trying to get more creative now. A step in the right direction IMO. Thoughts? (click the 'I agree' to watch the video):

Quick question....when I wear trousers I have a really nice burgundy dress belt that pairs up nicely with my color 8s. What color belts do you guys wear with denim and color 8s? Is it acceptable to wear dark brown or natural? Any examples would be greatly appreciated.

Alden X Leffot ravello tassels, first wear

It's amazing how different the shoes look in varying lighting conditions. The shoes look best outside, my phone cameria is not picking it up well enough. I love these

Sorry, just a few miles, but ....

Notes:

* Alden 45193H Reverse Chamois Boots ... a/k/a the "Little Tank."

* Inspired by boots of the the 1st and 2nd World Wars.

* Horween oiled chamois leather is turned to it's roughout side for ease of care and wear tolerance.

* Rumor: you can beat them up, clean them out, oil them, and brush them and they will be no worse for wear (not enough miles, or hard wear, for me to verify as yet).

* Natural plantation crepe sole (which is super silent), made in two colors, Tobacco or Earth. Tobacco (pictured) is a true brown finished with a light antique stain on the flat welt. "Earth" is really a dark brown, but in most lights, appears all but black or charcoal. The finish of the Earth boot is meant to accentuate those black tones, with black edge finish, stitching, eyelets, and laces. Both looked great in the store - but the decision was made for me (no Earth in my size so I happily went with Tobacco).

* Barrie last - but seems to fit a bit snugger than Barrie last shoes.

* Current status: the footware I want to have in the rotation more often.

When im wearing my Aldens in an office environment I try to coordinate the belt and shoes as much as possible because my dress shirt is tucked in and belt is clearly visible. With denim however, my shirt is usually untucked so I dont stress about it. Sometimes you are better off wearing a ribbon belt that matches your outfit and not necassarily your shoes

Same. With denim and chinos, I just wear one belt for nearly all shoes. I wear Tanner Goods in natural.
